did he make it look easy?

jgh64pkup 07-22-2010 01:12 AM

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

heck yeah compared to us doing the rear window it looked really easy

Strodder 07-22-2010 05:11 PM

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

It is easy, but scary. It could break if not done right. The glass guys around here won't guaranty it won't break when installing it. I'll probably install mine myself. I've done hundred's of VW windshields, and only broke one. :metal:

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

yeah it needs an engine and tranny but it was a v6 anyway
im going to drop a 350 and turbo 350/400 in it
interior is all there just needs a steering column rebuild
and ill be rolling down the road

Strodder 08-07-2010 08:47 PM

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

Go with a 700-R4 instead of the 350 or 400. Low first gear with a nice over drive.

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

Drop a motor tranny in, and sell it. Then you can have some cash for the truck.

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

junk it before you waste more time and money on it, fix the truck, I had a 1995 z28 convertible... in 1998 it was the worst car I ever owned, the only good thing was the LS1 and the T56-6 speed

jgh64pkup 08-08-2010 01:04 PM

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

ill tear up a 700r4
the truck is almost street legal so im going to do that first
and this firebird is just to have fun in
i can build a 355/350 horse pretty cheap and i have a 700r4 im sure somebody would trade me for a 350/400 turbo

heres some carnage from this weekend
i had no idea that hole was there haha
we ended up getting 5 trucks stuck trying to pull it out and broke the blazer
we finally got a backhoe to get them out

ruffrida2005 11-15-2010 10:19 AM

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

I would have took the backhoe and filled the dirt over the F**D. Looks like fun though.

jgh64pkup 11-15-2010 10:35 AM

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

Be honest now. You saw the water and wanted to make a big splash. You didn't know there was a big hole under the water. :haha: :haha:

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

You said you have an 80's front end.. i just put a 78 front end under my 62 and i was wondering how you hooked all the tie rods up and steering arms?
