Go easy on me guys, these are my first ever pics here. My new junkyard 16x7 Ford steelies, freshly powdercoated. And a shot of my old gal with new shoes, 255/85 Cooper S/Ts. Back to old-school!

Tried to edit out the above pic and substitute this one, which I prefer. Don't think that's gonna work so I'll just add this here.

Yeah, Mark, I know! I have a lot of trouble figuring out how to make computers do what I want them to.... :D

That's got a very nice stance. Do you have any side profile pics?

Looks good! I just picked up a set of these tires in the same size, and have these same wheels being powder coated this week. Thanks to this forum for recommending the wheels. These are replacing the stock 16.5 wheels and tires.

The truck looks great!
I just got a set of these tires, and found these same wheels, after this forum recommended them. As soon as the wheels are powder coated will mount them up.

I want your locking hubs! Are they a Model M-5? I've worked for WARN for 21years and love the original style all aluminum hubs with real brass dials!! I'll need to watch out for these at some wrecking yards to put on my K20.

Thanks! Post up some pics when you get the new tires & wheels mounted.

I don't know the model number -- they are Lock-O-Matics, which I think have been out of production for a very long time. I like 'em a lot!

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

Lock-O-Matics, that's even better! They should be M31's then according to my old chart. There should be a number stamped in the dial recess where you put your fingers.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

Yup, M31E. I've owned this truck for 39 years and had the hubs apart more than a couple times to clean & grease them, and I've seen that raised area with the numbers, but have never paid any attention.
Wouldn't have known what it meant anyway!

M31E is the model number. From what I can tell, they are the 31 set of hubs we developed, starting with an M-1 hub for the early 10 spline Jeeps.

I like those Cooper tires, Mike, hadn't seen those before. If they're still being made in five years or so when I finally wear down this set, I'll have to look at those! They remind me a little of the now-discontinued BFG A/T, a more old-school look compared to the new ones.

Finally got my steelies powdercoated and installed, along with my caps. I used stainless 73-up caps and painted the bowtie blue. Changed the whole look of the truck, I like it a lot better! Before and after:

That's looking great!! I especially like the outdoor pics with trees & mountains, perfect settings for a classic 4WD truck.

Thanks.

First fix my high beams, then fix the AC. After that, drive it when I can.

I just went from the 16.5 black steelies, to 16 inch white steelies with 255-85 Cooper ST Tires. What a difference the white wheels make with taller tires! Now it's time for a 2 inch lift.

^^ What a difference, that combo looks just right for our vintage K20s. Nice!!
