Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Well Noble Ok didn't go as well as I needed but that's racing. I lost second round in a close one. I was .022 on the tree to my opponent's .018. I was trying to make the finish line margin as close as possible and lost by .002. He was 10.905 I was 10.903 which means I only could have crossed .001 ahead him without breaking out. You can't be mad about loosing a good race.

I had gotten an email last week that they would certificates for last years Top Ten racers. I guess they decided we should get something. We never did way back when. We can change our Competition Number for the season for which mine would be 48 (Division 4 #8). It's not worth the hassle so I kept my 469C on the truck. Neverless a nice wall hanger in the pile of wall hangers on my bench in the shop. |

While I was packing up our photographer Robert Grice comes by and I'm like (What do you want?). I give him a hard time about selling me pictures because I have so many. I bought it anyway. He took the one in my avatar 20 years ago at the same track. We will be at the Tx Motorplex May 18th to the 21st for the Double Divisional. Then the motor comes out and the heads go to Slick Rick for valves and springs. I may change my mind and go to Topeka in July. That is if everything is ready by then. I need to go actually but I did so horrible there the last two years I said I wasn't. |
Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Very nice pic and congrats on the certificate. Is Topeka open again?

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
No real news to report. We will be racing at the Tx Motorplex again this week. It's the Double Divisional. Hopefully the weather treats us good. I'm sure we will see some rain while we are there but hopefully it won't be too much. Hopefully I'll be a better driver too. When I get back out comes the motor and the heads go to the shop.

https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...320&fit=bounds https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...320&fit=bounds Well I was able to turn things around at the Tx Motorplex. I had a very good weekend to put it mildly. DB came and hung out with me and Ken Friday. When he left I was still going rounds. We got rain Friday afternoon and had to finish up Saturday morning. As you can see the results were awesome. |

The stars aligned I guess for this to come out the way it did. Everyone I needed to go out did and I actually took care of one of them first round of the first race. I made it to fourth round of the second race which put me in the Jegs Allstars.I will race the Allstars at the Tx Motorplex at the Fall Nationals just like I did in 08 at Chicago. |

Now it's time to pull the motor and take care of the cylinder heads. I'm also going to get a new set of slicks as planned. I've decided to go back to Topeka in July because I need the races for Division points. After five races I'm sitting second in Division points 12 out of first. |
Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Congrats on the successful outing!

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Well done, Regan, you did a fantastic job taking the first race and getting you a Wally. I just wish I could have stayed to end. I am making plans to be at the Fall Nats on October 14th. Looking forward to seeing you go some rounds.

I got my heads back this past weekend. The motor is ready to go back in. I determined that my starter was worn out had to get a new one. i got an Ultimate Big Dawg from House of Payne. Its got a 4hp motor on it compared to the old 3hp Hitachi motor on my old one. I'm getting new slicks mounted up today. I'll get it all put back together and probably test at Xtreme asap so I'll be ready for Topeka at the end of July. |
Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Looks like I finally figured out the new Photobucket deal. You have to zoom in on the pic before you post it.

I drug this thing home a few weeks ago. It's a new piece to the puzzle for the C-50. Aint it pretty? |

https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...590&fit=bounds https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...590&fit=bounds The frame was bent by the pogo stick seat somehow. I just used the big 50 t persuade it gently back into place. |
Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
I don't know the condition of the TBI 350 but I'm sure the early 4L80 transmission would be good for somebody. If anyone is interested let me know.

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Anyway the plan for now on the C-50 is to transfer everything to this frame. I can put a 1480 series yoke on the 14 bolt rear. Then use the whole driveshaft assembly out of the Dodge donor truck. I'll just let the wheelbase fall in its own place. It will end up around 150 inches. The P-30 frame as it sits is 180" wheelbase and it looks like it will be pretty simple to do. I know none of this will be simple lol.
