Worked on the panels that are going behind the seat and in the inner cab corners. Also got some fabric samples ordered from my interior decorator friend.

Did some clean up and tuning on my floor panels. I punched and drilled the passenger side to plug weld to the frame work i built.then it got too hot to touch the metal so that was the end of that.

I installed 72 batts of r19 and 3 rolls of r13 in my garage. Then followed up with 20 sheets of sheet rock yesterday. I still need to install 20 more sheets and do the taping. Then perhaps I can brave the Idaho winter working on my truck.

I'm starting on the vintage air install. Just found out I need a double groove waterpump pulley. I did manage to install a new 2bbl carburetor yesterday along with a few other odds n ends. Too bad I go back to work tomorrow.

Finally got my doors back on. When I replaced the bottoms of my doors last year I failed to drill the holes for the door seal. I also just ground the welds but never filled and smoothed them so I decided all of that would be easier to do with the doors laying horizontal. I had the interior and exterior paint matched so I could touch up where it needed it, and I painted all of the interior of the doors and up to the crease line on the outer doors and front fenders where I had put patch panels. It's not a perfect match but I'm not ready to get into an all-over paint job so it will stay like it is for now.

I bought a speedometer face. Significant in that this was the first part purchase for the new project.

First rock of the pending landslide...

Russell: Looks like you got a good tight fit on your door seal. Nice and straight too.

Replaced the leaking float on the fuel sender, cut a new sending unit gasket out of 1/18" thick neoprene, fabricated and installed a baffle in the tank. Removed the 7747 ecm and engine wiring harness. Located the 7427 ecm I had stashed and a matching engine wiring harness form 94 Jimmy. Removed unneeded wiring from harness.

Thanks, ChuckDriver and Chevette. Those plastic pins in the weather stripping seem to hold it in place really well. On the bottom corners and a couple of other places I used a hot glue gun and glued it down. I've always used that stringy weather strip adhesive before but I think the hot glue works better and is not as messy.
Some trash blew up and got in the dark blue paint on the door panel so I'll have to re-do that, but I am going to replace the latch in the drivers door so I will wait and re-paint while I have it off replacing the latch.

Pulled all the replacement pcm wires out of the computer connectors to run them through the firewall grommet from the old harness then re-installed all the wires. Laid out the harness on it's new path and started connecting engine wiring. Actually had the Smoke Ram intake and 454 TBI setup on the bench considering swapping intakes but decided to stay with the Crossfire intake due to time constraints. But I am wiring the TPS, MAP, and IAC through separate plugs that I can disconnect when I replace the intake. It will make it easier to install the new connectors without modifying the harness again.

I began the mockup of my new body mounts to mount the 55 cab on the 90 frame. it's been interesting to say the least!

I converted my foot starter mechanical - to a foot starter ( electrical ) so my late model 250/2004r combo still looks like it uses the factory starter button.OH yea the number is ST26 from echoline or NAPA. drill 2 small holes and it bolts where the old foot switch used to come up through the floor board. It looks very sweet. My napa people even honored and replaced the first switch which we found out was defected. 2 wires and you are done after that. Remeber the fuse - it saves wires if the switch is bad. Smile.

I just been standing in the shade looking at my 54. I have the seat pulled but have yet to clean out the trash. Been thinking to either pull the tank or just replace the fuel line from the tank to the pump.

Will the weather ever cool down ?

Had a small mishap today with the 57 and the engine hoist and ended up taking out a 1yr old desert cooler radiator. Luckily, I didn't lose a finger or have some other injury but the rad is toast!

Bumming about the radiator. :waah:

You guys (and gals) be careful out there working on your rides!!

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

It took me one radiator repair and one replacement to learn that disconnecting two hoses and removing 6 bolts is not that big of a deal when doing things that involve engines and hoists, so I feel your pain. I am glad you did not get hurt.
