Re: My 1965 build thread
Thanks again guys for the prayers and condolences.
Trying to get back in the saddle. There are so many reasons I can't get anything done. Just because he's in the ground things aren't letting up. Now the recovery time begins and handling the legal and personal items. Before I found out he killed himself I was getting back to working on my truck. I filled in the pinholes and primed the vent window frames. Only the outside of the frames were pitted. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC00832.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC00833.jpg While looking for pics of my dad for the funeral I ran across the way I use to work before I had the shop. This was my frame machine. My wife couldn't pass up the shot. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...04-12-0406.jpg I just previewed this messsage and noticed the bird house in the back ground was made by my dad. He was an outstanding wood worker. Here is a hollow vessel that was almost complete http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC00918.jpg He was in process of making gear shift knobs for the miatas in the club. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC00902.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC00901.jpg What he left on the lathe http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC00890.jpg I might go ahead and finish it up for a club member. I spent alot of time turning with him when I got out of the service, but realized cars was my life and made a hard decision to persue cars.:banghead: I was going to save wood turning for when I retire. |

I was hoping by getting back to work it would take a load off, but it's just more time to think about things. I have started a discussion about suicide HERE |

Re: My 1965 build thread
Sorry to hear about your loss, Alan. I was wondering what happened to your build thread just yesterday; I never imagined anything like this. I usually just lurk over here in the 60-66 forum, but you guys do seem to have a lot of fun. I may have to get another one just so I can hang around in here and contribute.
I used to use almost the same pulling post. An oak tree and a come along can do wonders. :metal: |

jsmithbm Came by today to visit with sdailey and myself and drove his truck. While he was here I enlisted him to help sdailey and myself in putting 198's bed on my truck for the time being to make some room. Thanks for both of yall's help.

Had a little time today to get one thing done that has been on the list to do. I swapped out the tool box on my welding/plasma cart to a bigger box that was extra since I got the wood cabinets and drawers. Now I can keep all of my metal working hand tools and grinding disc in one location.:metal: Thanks to Shannon for the help. BTW Shannon the old box is empty and ready for ya. |
Re: My 1965 build thread
looks like a good Idea Alan. I work in the service and recovery section in my unit, and we have all kinds of plasmas, tigs, migs, CNC, oky/act. And parts all over the shop. Will have to build something like what you got.

Re: My 1965 build thread
Thats a cool idea! :metal:
i just made a cart that holds all my chit but thats a cool idea to hide it all  :metal: |
Re: My 1965 build thread
:metal: Nice little welding rig, Alan. Gives me an idea on how to do mine.
