Any info on that silver GMC? I have so many questions on the 4x4 conversion.

Looks like a frame swap, to a 1/2 ton 4x4 frame. I'm judging that by the shape of the frame and track width. I don't think it's a conversion.

I would like to put the running gear from a 3/4 ton mid 70s gm 4x4 under my 3/4 ton 50' gmc, but I'm not sure if it'll be too wide.

this is a project i (and my friend) found the other day.
its a runner.
i love it already.
but the deal is we cant keep it.
when i get it home this weekend, ill post more pics and start a build thread.
when i divide up the parts budget and make a few decisions, ill let you all know.
(and for the record, i still have the 69 and drive it everyday)

all the rust is on top of the metal and looks worse in the photo than it is, it just got here (or.coast) from idaho.
ill be needing two fenders.

i know this, job one will be getting that blasted canopy off.
and that rear bumper.

Rub that thing down with CLR (mixed in water), and a scotch-brite pad and you'll be amazed how nice it will turn out! Just do a small area, trust me :)

That thing looks awesome and has a nice patina! What's the deal that you can't keep it?

the clr tip is on the list.
well. im just a poor guy who can weld and mechanic. and built a few cars and bikes.
he is a car guy, but i talked him into getting this and a small budget, and do a little turnaround.
nothing original about that, but i think this one is a slam dunk.
its all orig. except for seats. not 1 extra hole in the fire wall.
the dash is perfect and the interior factory paint looks fresh with a little wax and rub.

i love it but it has to be a job.

Here are a few pics of a 58 Cameo that my friend/painter is working on. As much as I like bagged hot rodded trucks there is something so cool about an all original/restored truck. While I was there I helped them hang the hood. They are waiting on one headlight adjuster and a hood adjustment and it is done.

They let me fire it up while I was there. It runs so smooth and sounds nice and quiet.

Now that's a stock truck I could actually drive. V8 power and it looks great! The older trucks with the splash-oiled 6 just don't have the reliability for me to even consider a stock one. That Cameo is just a sweet truck!

Miayota - been a fan for a while of your work ... you have a good eye for vintage tin & it shows.

I hope you have continued sucess in your hobby/side work.

Simplest way is with a Photobucket, Fliker or some picture hosting site. Do you have one of those?

All I have is Picassa which I don't even know if it is a hosting site. I am techno-dinosaur and all this modern stuff is really Greek to me.

Is your picasa web albums? If you access your picassa albums online (through a google+ account) then you're set. If not, you'll need to use one of the sites that ratty 46 mentioned. You need your photos uploaded to the web somehow. Once you have your photos in a photo hosting site, view the picture you want to post in full-size, and then right-click on it and click "Copy Image URL". Once you've done that, in your message window on this page click the little picture icon (it says insert image if you hover over it) above the text box, press CTRL+V (paste) to put the link in the box that pops up, and press OK. That will put the correct code in your message to display the image. Repeat as necessary. If you're not sure, click "preview post" at the bottom to see how it looks.

If you want to use photobucket you can do it a little easier by copying and pasting the code directly from photobucket.

Here's a thread as well: Photo Posting Thread

Love that color!!

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

thanks I love the color too. it's a blend that my paint guy and I came up with. it's plum-crazy purple tweaked out a little bit. little more silver added and darker on the purple and more metallic added. just wanted something different!

Mine is "Ultra Violet Metallic" one year only 2004 Chevrolet SSR color my late wife picked out of the sales brochure. In true "Red Hat Society" tradition, the interior is red. Unfortunately she didn't survive cancer to see or drive it. Women love it!!

This is my about 75% done 1953 Chevy truck....all GM parts...250 6 cylinder, 4 speed truck tranny, Camaro rear end...it is currently #3 in the lineup too get worked on...I have a Willys S10 swap and then a near stock 1951 1 ton coming to my place this summer...then if I get time I will get back to work on this...it is rude and crude for sure....all it really needs now is a wiring kit...

afternoon Seamus, sorry to hear about your wife and my condolence's go out to you. would like to see a larger photo of your truck to see the color clearly. sounds like a great color, and I agree the color attracts lot's of women to it. at least it seems that way when I go to week-end car shows or whatever type I attend.
