Tim's truck got a New set of Wheels, same as my Boss 338s. They look great on his Yellow machine. My truck got an LED brake light tail-light set-up, I like it.

I installed the rear brake lines and hose.
I just took a knotted wheel on an angle grinder to the stock lines and they cleaned right up. The new brake hose was bought at Napa. http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...pso5xwisw8.jpg |

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Andy, most of the typical truck parts suppliers stock them, I got mine from LMC I think it was like $60.00. They have the Red Only that does Tail-light, Turn indicators and Brake light in RED Only. And there's another model for the same price that also does White Back-up lights. The unit comes with Sticky Tape and a standard trailer wiring plug.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
went and started to price parts, battery, tires and rims, then trying to get the brakes to come back up, first time in many years, opened the hood, to see what was going on there, opened the air cleaner, wow mice bedding, nothing in the carb, will get battery and put some gas in her, and try to see if she will fire over, motor turned over by hand with hardly any drag, so here is hoping it will run

Later on I went by NAPA and bought a cart load of engine gaskets and some torque converter bolts for the TH350 .
Am I supposed to use washers on these ? typ ? . I really need some 6 cylinder parts and Andy in Riverside doesn't answer 'phone calls nor E-mails , who in So. Cal. has a take out engine ? . I have a couple more pix to post but this junky old computer is so slow it'll choke and lock up instead of down loading them . Next week I guess . |

I replaced the rear tail light lenses, the housing buckets, the back-up lenses & housing buckets. And I also repaired the reverse light/neutral switch on the steering column. So now it won't start if it's in Reverse or Drive & now the back-up lights come on when shifted into "R". That was no easy job for a big guy like me. Those tiny screws that holds the switch onto the column can be trouble getting them back into their holes. And there is no room between that switch, the column & the firewall. It was a great day! (sarcasm) lol :metal:

Got a replacement fleetside long box today. The sides had already been removed. Gonna remove the back panel and wheelwells, and go to town with the wire wheel drill attachment. There's a few small dents and some surface rust on the floor. But, it's so far superior to my current bed (rust is pretty much the only thing holding it all together).
Tomorrow, gonna get the bed floor off the truck and find a place in the garage for it. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Installed my drop springs and before the new springs wheel well measured 33 7/8. After it measured 33 7/8. I was expecting more out of 2 inch drop springs. How long should it take to settle?

Finally "finished" the column shortening and switching out Tom's amp:volt gauge kit. That part was a breeze. Works like a charm.
What *was* a PIA was the fact that the reverse/neutral switch wouldn't find a home on the tilt column where it would clear the firewall clamps...whether I ran it inside of the cab or in the engine bay. So, since I'd already used the M & H jumper on the neutral safety switch, I just wired in a toggle switch for the reverse lights and put it in the e-brake cover. Up:ON Down: OFF Simple. |

Pulled the cab up off the frame of the shortbed and suspended it so a body guy can come put it on his trailer and take it to his shop to repair the rot. Finally decided I am going to get some help at least on the cab to get the project moving faster. Wanted to do it myself but just can't get time on my side.
