Yeah, I hear ya.....I will most likely go with the 50's Pontiac style...They are LED and would be bright and easier to install..

Hey Marc, where did you source the valley cover or did you fab it yourself?

Hey Marc, I really like that motor/accessory color combo you're going with, and those tail lights are pretty awesome too! Great build man!

AJ..LSclassics has those oil fill valley covers...on mine I bored a hole in the stock cover and welded in a holley fill cap and bung..I really like the look of what Marc used though...
I may change mine out some day down the road..

I've seen the LS Classic ones, but their photos don't have the oil pressure sender in the back pictured so I thought it may have been from somewhere else.

The oil pressure sender is attached to the block. The valley cover cuts around it. I came in billet aluminum but I painted it to match the block.

I also had someone pitch an idea of some tail lights. I think they originally were intended as front fender marker lights. They say Guide on them (there not stock Suburban taillights). They match the curve of the body perfectly .....

We've got paint….I love how the color turned out. The first attempt the gloss was too shinny and I thought crap I choose the wrong color. We added more flattening agent and it looked like a totally different color. I'm so digging the way it looks. My painter is doing all of the other parts next. The seat frame and steering wheel will be the off white but a gloss clear to add contrast. I think the steering wheel is going to look very cool as its going to be 2 tone..

The nice thing about the Corona virus is I don't get grief for spending time in the garage.

Here are some pics..

good led tails look like a hole in the universe, even the small stock led tails I get from bowtie bits are crazy bright. dont need a reverse light with your foot lightly on the brake pedal.

that color looks amazing!

Thanks....I have been playing around with brushed aluminum fasteners and I dig how this color looks next to the satin color. I think once it's all put together is should look pretty cool.

I picked up some more parts from the painter this weekend. I can say i'm really digging this color combo. The steering wheel is gloss clear and semi gloss clear to add some nice contrast.

I started to assemble more of the motor but a broken intake bolt slowed my progress. I can say I hate the Craftsman torque wrench I have....

More progress to come. My injectors have been sent out for a cleaning and the rest of my fittings show this week to complete my fuel lines up the intake.

Thank you
Marc

Thanks, I go back and forth on if I should have painted it black like most people...
