Re: My 1965 build thread
Allen,
Would you mind taking some more pictures of your cart from some other views. I have been trying to come up with a better cart than I currently have and I think your idea is slick! |

Re: My 1965 build thread
Too much more, and you will have to throw down Jesse James style and turn the Miata into your cart. On secont thought, that might be kinda cool......

Re: My 1965 build thread
Also Air Bag it, and call it the Monster Cart

Re: My 1965 build thread
Alan
What size steel is that that you used to make your seat brackets. I just picked up a set of those seats myself. I didn't get the center section though. I have to come up with some sort of console or something. Also, I was very sad to hear about your father. I know I haven't commented a lot during your build but I've been watching almost from the begining. Keep your head up and keep up the good work. |
Re: My 1965 build thread
That is a cool cart....maybe some day I will have a shop with room for a cart like that :)

Thanks for the thoughts, I just got back from getting some things out of his shop. It doesn't even look like I did anything. It was really hard Monday when I went there. I didn't want to start working cause I kept thinking he would be right back. Quote:

Re: My 1965 build thread
Alan i think you should get a lawn mower and build a rolling cart behind it.
|
Re: My 1965 build thread
Put pneumatic tires on it like ones that are on a hand truck. Seriously there's a lot of weight on it. Plus you can roll it over the gravel.

Re: My 1965 build thread
Sometimes you just need to get your mind away from everything. I have been pretty run down at work due to everything I need to get done. We all got together today and went for lunch and played pool the rest of the day (It was a thank you for working through the past 3 weekends). When I got home I felt so much better and spent the rest of the daylight clearing out some trees I had cut down. Then I went and set the patio blocks in the front yard we bought last weekend.
Take the wife and kids to miniature golf, bowling, etc. Whatever you guys would consider fun. It will give everyones mind a chance to relax and get to a more level place again. I am the worst one for taking time for myself. I almost stayed at work while the rest of the team went out, just so I could get some things done. Now I am glad I got away from it for a few hours. Tomorrow I will be back at, but with a clearer mind. |

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC01192.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC01195.jpg This is what was under it. Now I need to order some inner patch panels for the lower inner lip where the square holes are. Plus repair this area. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC01196.jpg |

Re: My 1965 build thread
Awesome work Alan and once again thank you for posting such great pictures, I have been wondering how to weld the sides and now I see it in action. I do have a question about the stake pocket removal when I looked at removing them myself I noticed that not only are they stake pockets but they also provide rigidity to the top of the bed side (lip) not sure what you call that area. Are you worried about losing strength and/or viberations now since its an 8' long piece? Or are you planning some sort of support?
|
Re: My 1965 build thread
Hey Alan do you worry about any rust between the inner lips of the seam? I'm just wondering cuz I'm doing the same thing.
