Re: PO has me PO'd
If I hear what your saying...the pass. side widnshield frame up top is to far away?
Is that what you meant by 'longer'? If you pull back the firewall just a small amount, it would translate into a fair bit of change at the top of the windshield frame. Simply pulling the windshield back isn't the answer till you check door opening dimension's. |

Im glad I bolted my top back on and braced everything in before i sold it! Its a pain in the arse working around the braces, but will be worth it in the end. Good Luck

Meant to send you a PM, but since I have your ear, how are you making out with the floorboards? Personally, I would get rid of the torsion boxes, or whatever their called these days, makes it much easier to weld up the bottom seam, and seam seal your work. Tri-Pro makes some real nice repops |

SNAFU----averted, close call!!! I found out that if you hang 200 pounds of sh!t from the drip rail, it will suck the top right down
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace934.jpg -Greg, thanks for the idea, but I still had some leftover from the PO. He had it stuffed into a crossbrace under the bed, worked great as you can see, but the rest of the metal rusted out.LOL Found a better product, you can machine it, drill and tap it, and it really sticks to anything http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace938.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace939.jpg |

Re: PO has me PO'd
Thanks Doug, still plugging along:lol:ever so slowly
HEY TYNEE, what kinda shape is the external voltage regulator in??? Doesn't have to work, just need the cover to be rust free Finally got a couple hours to play with the Jimmy, after all the picnics, and annual family fishing trip! Cut the bottom off the external voltage regulator and used #10 SS panhead 1/2" screws to mount the cover Found a nice grounding strap in the HELP section, don't know why that bolt was there in the frame, everything else is riveted, but it worked for a grounding location. Now I feel a little safer continuing on with the electrical hookups Nice idea to put the notch in the battery box, makes for better access http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace957.jpg put a piece of rubber hose I sliced on the core support to act as a bumper for the wiring harness. It was tight up against it http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace960.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace958.jpg Getting closer, still have to bolt up the outside windshield mounts http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace959.jpg |
