Hope everyone had a good Sunday. Nothing was done on ole patches today.

Re: 1968
Today I was going to paint the vent arms and visor rods orange. I looked and seen I had both the same side. So I cut the pivot off of another vent window and welded it on the one I had sand blasted and primed. Looks good. I hope to paint it up tomorrow and let it cure so I can repair the rubbers on them.

Re: 1968
Good progress, George! I vote for black mirror arms, but I'be always had a thing for orange and black (or yellow and black, obviously).

Re: 1968
Looks great George! Man you've been painting parts for a long time! Where did you get your 8/350 emblems and how much? Are you happy with the quality of them?

I bought them off the parts board. There was a guy there that changed his mind of putting a 350 in his truck, so I scored. here is what I got from him. 1 HEI distributor ith coil and cap new 50.00 1 air cleaner 3'' air filter new 35.00 2 350 V8 emblems new 35.00 and a couple of other things I can't remember. they are put up untill I need them. |
Re: 1968
I got my classic parts book down and ordered all the stuff I need to rebuild my vent windows and a lot of things that I will need for my doors also. Might as well put them in this order.

Re: 1968
Today, my steering shaft came in. It was a little greasy but what the hay. It was not too bad that a little cleaning and sand blasting could not take care of.
I sand blasted and painted the steering shaft and what a difference. With a new grade 8 bolt also. What do you guys think? http://i.imgur.com/2KjbBs7l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/P00enEcl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6W62ypol.jpg all I need now is a rag joint and the steering will be done. |
Re: 1968
It came out realy nice George.
Classic Industries sells the OER steering coupler at a very reasonable price $31.99 part# 7828871 although I would check ebay because often times they have a competitive price with less expensive shipping. http://www.classicindustries.com/197...s/7828871.html |

Re: 1968
well, the 24th is a bust. He can't come up untill his wife get back off Vacation. Which will be Sat. So we set it back another week. No big deal. Gives me time to do a few things instead of doing body work.

Re: 1968
Shaft looks great.
Can't wait to see it rolling down the road. |
Re: 1968
Does look nice. Must've run out of orange?
Looking forward to some more reassembly pics in the near future. We're camping this weekend, so no progress on Mustard again, so you'll have to make up for my total lack of progress... |
