I read through your build over the last week. Your truck is great. Love the roadster look. I just finished reading mark’s orangepeel build last week. I may be using your burnt wood idea. I really like how it came out!

Jason, thanks for looking at the build. Burning the wood really brings out the grain. Have been following your build also, nice work...Jim

The bed looks great! I'll bet it was nice to be able to clean everything up with the wood out of there! Sweet truck!

Well, I'm back with a very small update. Able to get back in the shop today and finish up the wiring for the cruise unit. I have a Ron Francis wiring unit, so it made it real easy to hook up the wires. Cut to length, install fitting, back off screw install wire and tighten down. Not that it makes that much to look at, but heres all the wires in place, can you guess which ones I added:devil::uhmk:. The other item to mention is my leather came in last week, and I took that and my seat to the upholstery guy, said he would get started on it this week. Speaking of upholstery a friend of mine wants me to redo his door panels on his 48 F@rd coupe, I made up a sample for him to look at. I'll post those pics next...Jim

anyway to get a better pic of that fuse panel please so that we can read it

Greg, tried to get a better pic, but it won't focus correct

Pic 1 Out of focus

Pic 2 This is how the Ron Francis panel looks

Pic 3 This is the print out for the panel

Pic 4 This is American Auto Wire panel print out.

Both are great kits, I started using Ron Francis back in the 70's it was the best then, for single run wires.

Mark and I know use American Auto Wire, because we like the single run wires and it is cheaper that Ron Francis

Hope this helps...Jim

Jim

I agree, AAW is hard to beat. I ran that in my 48 and I plan to purchase the same Highway 22 kit for the 53...This time I hope my wiring turns out more organized tho. Lesson learned, having every powered do dad under the sun seems cool until to need to wire it all to work together....

Is there a reason you'd use the universal Highway 22 kit rather than the year specific kit for our trucks? I plan to get the AAW kit for 47-53 trucks for my build.

The main reason me and Dad use the hwy22 kits is they are single run wire kits. I.E you run only what you need or want.

The kits that come all in one bundle are all coiled up and if you dont use some of the wires they get coiled up and zip tied under your dash creating more mess.

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build

Jim, I see that Yogi's sells a AAW 15 circuit kit that has the same features for us poor boys that don't have all the neat features in our rods. From what I can see they have a decent price on their AAW Kits. I have a Rebel 12 circuit kit in the 64 now because I needed something cheap and quick and it was both of those things. But plan on redoing a few things and will need a better set up. Thanks for advice

Yes we are Jim, I wear my mask everywhere I go and try to stay healthy. How is Aggie getting along? Eve set up a computer in the lobby of the nursing home so the patrons could atleast Skype with their loved ones. So far they have kept the virus out of the Nursing Home an none of the workers have gotten it either. Would you tell your beautiful wife we miss her wonderful smile and wish we could just give her a big ol hug! You both are in my prayers.

Aggie is doing OK, but mentally this is hard on her. Only get to see her thru the window and we talk with our phones. Hope this changes soon...Jim

To the followers on here I wanted to let you know that on Wednesday 6-17-2020 I lost the love of my life Aggie. Nursing homes still closed but I was allowed to be with her the last 6 days before she passed. I'm doing OK, she's in a better place, with no more pain...Jim

Jim, I'm so sorry to read this! Eve and I want you to know just how much Aggie meant to us. WE could tell That the love both of you had for each other was something a lot of people wished they had. Meeting her and spending time with her on our visit helped make it great. As long as I live I'll never forget the twinkle in her eye when she talked about you and her family! Prayer's from our house to yours. Ray
