Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
Okay I have learned there are some great people on this thread and willing to give great advise when asked. I am planning on getting the 72 in primer in about 3 to 4 weeks and at that time I am going to go ahead and paint the interior of the truck while I have it apart. I am thinking of the main color and interior color being a gun metal grey that would pop with a sunburst orange color and the top and hood color. Any suggestions on the grey color I should use or does anyone have a good photo of a real sharp grey color on a truck?
Thanks, Kyle :metal: :chevy: |
Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
My 68 C20 Camper special I just bought. Possibly going to put 2005 5.3 in, don't know for sure yet. Was all original when I bought it. Hadn't been run in twelve years. Runs now, R12 AC even works with no work on it.

Here are a few picks of my 1972 3/4 ton Cheyenne 4x4. It has a BB 454 w/ Holly 750 carb, Edelbrock manifold, Hooker headers, trans. oil cooler, B&M shift kit in tranny, Dana 60 rear end, dual batteries, 6" spring lift w/Weld rims, BFG All Terrains and alarm system. Interior has factory bucket seats and console, power steering, factory a/c, Cheyenne woodgrain door trim and Pioneer c/d player w/amp. It has been about a 4 year project.

Picked up a new ride, a 69'. Wheels haven't grown on me yet. May have to do some trade'in.
|
Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
If you need a nudge......that truck looks but the wheels look a little out of place. I am only saying this because you said you might need to do some trading. If you are like me....little things like that can kinda irk me until I take action but it's a great looking truck and would look EVEN BETTER with perhaps a more period correct wheel. Nice though.
|
Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
"would look EVEN BETTER with perhaps a more period correct wheel"...
I'll second that and take it a step further and say - those wheels are awful, invest in some intro wheels and watch this truck look awesome!! |

I'm incline to agree with you on those wheels, my self i don't really like those style of wheels,, the truck is nice ,,but those wheels have got to go ,,would maybe look better on some ones ford low rider,,oopps i said the " f" word,, sorry lol, |
Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
Yeah, I know. It's pretty bad when the seller is knocking them even before you buy the truck. He said the owner before him paid $5000 plus tires for them. I'm looking at some 17" rallies this weekend.
BTW, I can't believe the 295/30/22 tires all the way around don't rub. |
Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
They look bad to us (who posted so far) but might be perfect for someone else. Post 'em up on C/L and they could be money down on a set of billet wheels or something more visually pleasing. Not saying you should follow the crowd but generally the guys (and/or girl or two) on this board have similar tastes. Nice find.
|
Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
All personal tastes aside - those are ugly wheels and I feel sorry for the guy who paid $5k for them!!...;)

Just make sure and look at it on the bright side. I would much rather have that truck with those wheels that might need to go than a killer set of wheels on a turd. Make sense? Can't believe those are 22's! Dang...... I like my tires like safe s*x...........lots of rubber!!!! lol |

I think they would look way better if they were 5 spoke IMO
|
Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
I like them 22" wheels... they'd look good on my black truck i think! I'm looking for some chrome to shine with the black.
