Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
A little bit of shop time today...:mm:
Rian sent me a Boddington's Beer Tap handle a while back that was originally slated to go on a Rat Rod project. The Rat Rod is gone, so today the tap handle became a shift knob for the 65 or my 90 model… it now resides in the 90 but will swap over to the 65 easy enough… On to the pictures…:uhmk: Sent Rian these pics, and after getting this one, he knew what was happening...;) https://farm1.staticflickr.com/580/2...9a9f1d9a_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr I first drilled out the aluminum inner piece then tapped some 1/2 x 20 threads to match the top of the shift handle… https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5650/...47bf1da5_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Threads cut… https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5655/...541d764d_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Shift Knob in place...:chevy: https://farm1.staticflickr.com/712/2...351e8692_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Awesome brotha! Now you need a Jack Daniels whiskey bottle to serve as a overflow coolant tank. LOL! :metal:
|
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Don, love it! looks great:metal: although I might suggest a single malt overflow bottle, it goes much better with boddingtons than Jack D :lol:

Hey Don how about selling me the bed off the truck with the camper on it
|
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Truck looks even better sitting in your yard.
Way to go. |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Hey wait a minute that does not look like my driveway. Haha. Nice score brother!!!! Hope to drive mine down soon. Still have a few bugs to fix.
|
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
thats a cool truck Don and will be a fun build.
looks like someone changed to a 60 grill with the bars in the middle... all the better. Pete and I are going out to Eddies this Saturday... do you want me to secure that hood? Not sure if we can bring it back this trip but we can make sure it's not sold and for him to hold it till we can get it. those early models can really grow on ya... congrats on getting her home. JoJo approves too... |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Congratulations on the new truck. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
|
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Well done Don.
Like I did say to you before. This truck has three things I like..... 1.) Gun rack 2.) Camper shell 3.) Apachè name tags (Would rock those on my truck for sure) OK, so number 4 is the fact JoJo approved of it all. |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Ahhh, got it home safe and sound.
Great looking truck, will need more pics.. Super Cool Score! |

Although the tailgate is a bonus, the missing hood puts a slight damper on things, but I do know where one resides in the hills in NW Arkansas...;) No direction in mind as of yet, put the proverbial gears are turning...:chevy: |

I was typing replies earlier on my phone and a bunch of replies came through whilst I was hunting and pecking on the little phone keyboard...
I think I caught up finally… so after work this afternoon I had my bro-in-law help me get the hood I had lying around bolted on...:mm: In the very first post of this thread I mentioned that I was originally looking at a '60 model a friend of mine has… well I went with the '65 and now have found out this is a '60 model that was built in St. Louis, not a '61...:metal: So as Clem, so astutely, noticed it is rocking a '60 grille which it was born with...:metal: https://farm1.staticflickr.com/670/2...0ebdf803_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Sorry guys, but for more pics you will have to wait for the Build thread coming soon!!!:bann: |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
I did not figure you would want to sell it but I would make you a nice offer if you were to change your mind

I'll be keeping an eye pealed for that build thread! :metal:
Turbo would be kinda cool on that 235. If it ain't locked up, but if you add enough boost that'll unlock it! :haha: |
