I think you should win an award for the most pictures of the same red blazer and change your title to "Red Blazer Detail Job". Did I miss the part where you cleaned and detailed your tires? They are still the same tires you bought it with right?
But Hey you sure got a great deal on a Blazer that is in great shape and you cleaned it up very well. We are all jealous of a find like this. You saved it from someone who would not appreciate it. Ahhhh But if your Blazer could talk,It would say "Thanks for saving me from Kids with baby bottles and chewing gum on my seats".

Haha :)

Pulled the top off for the first time and man that thing is heavy lol. When you put it back on how do you line them up? My chrome side pieces arent lining up right with the holes.

Fix one thing something else goes wrong. Welp now I need to put some U-joints in the driveshaft.

thirdstreettito 07-13-2011 10:16 PM

Re: My 87 K5 Blazer project

Which driveshaft? What are your symptoms?

The one that goes to the rearend. It has ALOT of play in it and its been making a bunch of racket

thirdstreettito 07-13-2011 11:17 PM

Re: My 87 K5 Blazer project

Which part has play? The rear u-joint area or front u-joint area? Back and forth play? or side to side/up and down?

NCTyphoonKid 07-14-2011 10:28 AM

Re: My 87 K5 Blazer project

The U-joints both back and front I don't think they've ever been greased. It has up and down and side to side play.

Re: My 87 K5 Blazer project

Is the pinion itself moving too?

NCTyphoonKid 07-17-2011 10:17 AM

Re: My 87 K5 Blazer project

Me and buddy replaced the U-joint and it seems to have solved all the problems. The old one had never been greased which is probably why it went bad.
