I pretty well have the truck done. Here are some of the final pictures. I am anxious to get it outside if the weather would cooperate. Thanks everyone for your help in answering questions on this build.

Man....you've just set the bar even higher, your truck's going to be hard to beat!

I wouldn't mind seeing it sitting in my driveway!

Great job!

That's nice! It's hard to believe anything that nice came from Springfield(Joking the wife and I have a lot of family in that area).Hopefully I'll get to see it in person this summer at a car show in MO. I can only wish I ever have one this nice.

Why wait 'til spring,do they salt the roads there??
I admire your patience.......

Re: 48 Build Pictures

We have salt, sand you name it to keep the ice and snow clear. My bigger problem is getting the truck across a very soft yard with it raining or snowing every few days. I don't have a paved driveway to my shop building. Guess I should have made it 4 wheel drive!

Re: 48 Build Pictures

awesome beautiful build...what is your wheel base dimensions from center of the back wheel to the center of the front wheel?

buildinga55 01-17-2011 01:22 PM

Re: 48 Build Pictures

I would have to measure. Fairly close to stock. I did move the rear back about 1 1/2" the front may be forward just a hair from original. It has Mustang 2 IFS.

Love the truck i would be carefull of the splash guards near the running boards and lower cab corner. mine hit my paint on the cab after going over a bump. the cab moves a lot if you using the stock mounts. yours look much closer than mine.... awsome work by the way!

Re: 48 Build Pictures

Great looking truck! Did you cut out part of your firewall or cut out the ribs and weld all the wholes up? I hate the thought of welding all the wholes up on mine and then grinding.

buildinga55 01-19-2011 12:37 AM

Re: 48 Build Pictures

I did both. Welding a lot of holes and made some patches. The previous owner had put the horizontal part of the firewall in with 1/8 steel plate. It is super flat, but hard to drill through. I like the way the firewall turned out.

Re: 48 Build Pictures

nice truck and a great color choice. did you have somebody build a custom seat or did you use a donor seat with a custom cover?

buildinga55 01-22-2011 12:07 PM

Re: 48 Build Pictures

That seat is out of about an 88 Chevy pickup. The upholstery shop made the cover and I did not like the base of the side of the seat, so he made a nice cover for it that I really like. I don't think you can see that in any of the pictures.
