Re: LT1 GenV swap

That filter looks like a great option for the LT but I checked the WIX filter on rock auto, part number 33814. This lists out all 3 ports on the filter as 5/16. Hope that is a typo, because otherwise I not see how that would be good as the fuel pump inlet is 3/8

Do you have any more of the water pump adapters?

Following along. I just picked up a L83/6L80 for my K10. I'm with you on the accessory brackets, either they are WAY too expensive or ugly. I'm deleting the vacuum pump as I already have hydroboost installed.

If have to find the reciept, but I have a 2nd set of fuel pump module, fuel pump, throttle pedal, e85 sensor, fuel psi sensor obd connectors and Seals and terminals for them. It was gonna be for a customer but backed out of a reworked harness. I'd also need to see the cost and I could pm you if interested. But the cost on the pump module connwctr was around 50 with taxes and was on backorder from gm for a little over a month.

I would be interested in the Module, pressure sensor, the connectors and seals and terminals. Possibly the E85 sensor. PM me please.

Thanks 87chevy.com!
Great read and loads of info.
I'm putting an L83/6L80 in my '82 Stepside. It is great to find all this info here!

How is everything with your truck? Any news?
Thanks again!

P.S.: And by "I'm putting...". I mean. I am having it done! I don't have the skills, knowledge, tools or a place in which to do it... maybe some day :)

Re: LT1 GenV swap

Going to offer the extra connectors I have for sale. Each connector comes with the required terminals, and seals with an extra terminal as a backup.

These are the only ones you need to get the L83 up and running aside from modding the engine harness.

Fuel pump driver module , fuel pump, e85 sensor, fuel pressure, throttle pedal and obd 2 port. If there are more than a few interested, I can order more and subscribe and become a member and support the board once again.

Thanks,
Clint

Re: LT1 GenV swap

Got a question for the mass' out there... is this a fuel regulator or fuel damper

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/3081/LOHaoM.jpg

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/6659/yG0IYx.jpg

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/350/wOnzBX.jpg

From the filters with regulators in them, this looks like it would be a regulator since the silver container, fuel filter, has an inlet from the pump, and 2 outs.... one to the top of the lid, and the other to this regulator/dampner... but has an outlet to drain right back into the bucket.

If it has the fuel pump control module to pwm the pressure, is this a backup / fail-safe?

Re: LT1 GenV swap

I read somewhere that it has a pressure relief valve in the stock pumps. When you shut the engine down it relieves the pressure on the pump.

Re: LT1 GenV swap

Most of the pictures that look like the part in question is a regulator... a dampner only has the the center inlet... wonder if gmperformance would know. I still plan on running factory pump assembly.. just haven't made progress on the rings...

Re: LT1 GenV swap

And more searching revealed the ecu terminals, and most of the connector terminals in the harness.. gonna repair the one the first junk yard nipped off 2 sensors and make it good as new without splices and maybe just run that harness and sell the other harness that's not been damaged.

How deep are you in the wiring? I'm trying to figure out the canbus. As far as I can tell there are 2 circuits needed, 1 for the FPCM and 1 for the trans. Sound right?

Done with the wiring .. it's just a pass pass through. It goes on to trans, tee off into the trans, then goes out the trans to the one one of the connectors x115 or x125 and that's what will go to the obd port.

Sweet that the way I was gonna wire it. Did you put a resistor in it? Also, the brake pedal switch, are you using the 4 pin switch?

Resistor for the can line, yeah. Brake pedal sensor no, gonna try something else.

Well that erks me...... Have had one on order since they were available to pre- order..... still have not seen anything, and they keep moving the release date.

I am happy for you don't get me wrong but geeze its been almost two months.....

Looks like I should have my pan soon. Being a shop we ordered
My pan through a distributor. Sounds like they have had the pan for some time and it took us calling then to get the order rolling again.... hope to see the pan sometime next week...

Re: LT1 GenV swap

Glad to hear. Got around to the alternator bracket.. going to give this a try. Should work as there are other companies that offer setups like this

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/2498/1GJ6nL.jpg

And keeps the vacuum pump... just need to reinstall it as i was testing out another bracket idea. Need to remake the power steering brackets to incorporate an idler instead of a tensioner...

Got my pan in last week too. Clearance is perfect for my Porterbuilt suspension. Just waiting on Holley's LT accessory drive now. Looks like a couple more months.

Re: LT1 GenV swap

Looks great. I have been very interested in doing an LT4 swap for my build as of late, but was initially put off by the cost of getting the front drive system setup. Looks like Holley and Dirty dingo are working on kits or have them already. Dingo said probably another few months for the LT4 stuff.

I'm assuming I'd need to run the Holley pan to clear my crossmember in the 66, since it's actually from an 85 pickup as well?

Ever figure out how you'll get a tach signal and coolant temp from? I'd hate to have to rebuy gauges that pull from an OBD port since I have new speedhuts sitting in a box . . .
