You have to remove them to get the cab floor up into location, since the cowl was getting replaced, it was just easier. Will mount them up later, the builder is alittle slow

Here's a pic of Jon's headers,sweet. I think he said they were off a passenger car, they seem to have the rite fit, higher up in the frame, now he can run his exhaust along the frame rails. For all you guys dragging metal;)

Thanks Jim- I need to set my laptop back up and get pics of the camera. Today I installed the upper part of the rear shock relocation kit and also got the front cross back on the truck.

The headers are another set of Thorleys for GM passenger cars. They're mid-length and fit perfect. There's good clearance on the mounts, frame, etc. and I can't see a reason NOT to use these on lowered trucks.

Sounds like you were busy while I wasn't there. Dang parts venders, things never fit as advertised:haha:

This morning I installed the Early Classic super track bar, the lower shock relocation mounts, 6" lowering springs and reinstalled the shocks.

If you're an idiot like me read (or should I say "Heed") the part of the directions that says to jack the frame to take the weight off. While bracing myself by holding the top of the axle tube I reached under and dropped the nuts off the "U" bolt......apparently that's not too bright. "Frame, axle tube....axle tube, frame". It smarts. Fortunately the powder coating kept it from dropping slowly as the nuts came off and broke free all at once dropping the frame in one fell swoop.

It looks like it's going to be a nice truck, and a nice way to remember a friend. I'm sorry if I missed it, but what are you planning on doing with the truck once it's finished?

Anyhow, I hope that everyone remembers that there is going to be an additional 800 - 900 lbs put back on there once the cab, seat, gas tank, steering column, tailgate, and bed floor are installed, pushing the back end down even further. That may be too much of a drop. Just a thought to consider, if it hasn't been yet.

Thanks! We'll take it to "Cruise-Ins" etc.

It's only a 6" drop in the rear and 4 1/2" in the front. I will have to c-notch the frame but the kit is not here yet.

I'm not ignoring you. We pulled the doors right back off so Jim could get back to the pillars and rockers. When we rehang them I'll put some up

I should explain that the part is fantastic- the difficulty in the installation came from what looks like prior frame damage (minor). I was able to get things "Tweaked" back where they should be but it was kicking my !#@$! for a bit. The upside is that I lost about 18lbs. of water weight struggling with it
