Re: My 57 Pro Street
Nice work. I'm a hump stock bezel kind of guy but respect the work you are doing and the look you are after. This week I came across a 59 elcamino dash and thought about getting it for a future project based on the threads here.

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Hey Kim,
I just looked over you whole build thread again because I had some time and I just wanted you to know you are doing a great job. Keep it up man. I was going to look at Dave's again "Cal 58 GMC" but that build is a novel.lol |

Re: My 57 Pro Street
This build has some awesome fab work. Are you going to keep the 57 grill? Those are my favorite TF grills.
Nice work on your truck. Subscribing, I wanna keep watching. |

I'm going to keep it with some changes. I like the look of the center oval floating in space so that's what I am going to try and achieve. Kim |

Here's a quick up-date.
I had to come up with a new core support so this is what I did. I took a piece of 2" OD tube and cut it down. Then I welded some nuts on the back of a couple of washers that fit inside the tube and welded them in. They are just tacked on my frame horns for now. Will finish after I make sure everything fits as it should. Kim |

Time for some updating.
I had to repair the lower corner on my pass. door. I'm to cheap to by the whole lower door skin for such a small piece so I made my own. The pics are self explanatory. Kim |

And the finished product.

Re: My 57 Pro Street

I started working on getting the driver door to line up.
The cage nuts on the top were missing so I made some replacements. I doo have to hold them in to get them started but it's not that bad. The door wouldn't close all the way at first so I used a 2x4 to persuade it and now it's fine. Kim |

I welded a small tab to give the jamb more support in the future.
The top was hanging out also so I used a 2x4 to persuade it also. Kim |

I also needed new door sills.
I welded a piece of 1/2 inch square tube to the new sills to give them some added support where they weld to the step. Kim |

My old ones were beat to heck so the neasurements I got off them may have been a little off. When I got the new ones on they stuck out at the bottom so I had to bend them in to line up with the cab and front fenders.

Another small repair was on the lower hinge pockets.
Mine were kinda iffy so I made some new ones. Kim |

The lower cowl on the passenger side was in real bad shape.
Being cheap again I figured I would try and make my own. Kim |

As its in a place that will never be seen when the truck is done I think I can live with the results.

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Once again good job, keep up the good work.
