Haven't received the gas tank yet. Tracking info says it should be here on Monday......definitely ready for it to arrive so I can get some more things accomplished on the truck. |

Re: Mieser's 71 Short Wide Project
I wonder if that brown primer would wipe off with lacquer thinner? Then you would have a patina. Are the spindles cpp modular? Keep up the good work!

Re: Mieser's 71 Short Wide Project
I did have a question regarding the routing of the fuel line. The new tank hangs down quite a bit and the inlet for the fuel line is on the bottom right front corner. Will I have any problems with fuel flow seeing as how I'll have to route my fuel line up vertically several inches to be able to tie it to the frame? I was planning on running a 90 degree bend up from the inlet with the fuel line and then running another 90 degree bend to the right to get the fuel line to the frame. Any problems with running that many bends or should I minimize the number of 90's I'm running? At this point I don't plan on running an electric fuel pump.....but will if I need to I guess.
|
Re: Mieser's 71 Short Wide Project
I'm not too sure on the bends but I am planning on the same routing method but i have an electric pump??? I would think that the mechanical pump should be enough to handle the few 90's that you plan on doing????
|
Re: Mieser's 71 Short Wide Project
That's what I'm hoping too. I just want to make sure the the fuel flow will not be restricted by that many bends and that there will be no issues getting the fuel to flow up vertically from the inlet on the tank.

I have a mechanical pump and my tank is the same design and so far I have zero issues with fuel. I have a 90deg fitting at the tank and a 90 correcting the run back to the fuel pump. Hope this helps. |
