never been a big carryall suburban fan but you have sure got me loving this one, excellent workmanship, cool paint and overall theme, great work, you may have converted this guy;) look forward to your updates

i got the inner fenders,splash shield,latching plate and core support back from the powdercoater. i also got a radiator from superior radiator on ebay. i bought it for $199 and $24.00 to ship.it a all aluminium 3 row and its good to 750 horsepower.

i removed the shifter bump on the column.i cut it off and filled it with steelwool and jb weld. then i sanded and primed it. i'm going to paint it blue tomorrow.

someone it the 80s descided that the carryall need a sunroof. it would probably be o.k. if the hole was cut in the right spot. its about a foot to far back. so i am going to have a roof section cut out from a rusted out cab of a truck and have insane wayne weld it in tomorrow.

here are some pictures or the hood lace i got from jim carter. the screws,the rubber lace and little metal brackets cost about $20. also got some powdercoated hinges off of ebay from 69powderkeg.the guy used eastwood single stage reflective chrome powder. looks like aluminium and its alot cheaper then chrome. he did a really nice job.also installed the power brake double boost and master cylinder. charlie bled the brake for about 2 hours and couldn't get a pedal. it was a cheapo ebay. i think there is something wrong with the master cylinder.

on the bleeding problem, did he bench bleed the M/C first? if not it will take forever and 2 or 3 days to get a pedal.

I hope the single stage chrome powdercoat lasts awhile for you. I used the same powder on a job and wound up having to redo it and buy new decals again too. The single stage chromes are not quite scienced out yet. The finish won't hold up compared to usual chrome powder topped with a clearcoat. Just make sure and not touch it any more than you have to. The body oils seemed to do the damage to the finish.

i have always bench bled a master cylinder. this time i didnt. charlie thought you would get the same result if filled both resevoirs with fluid and take a brake bleeding kit and run the both hoses to a jar until all the bubble are gone. then run both tubes back into the master cylinder and pump the brakes until all the air is gone. what is the difference between bench bleeding with a screw driver and bleeding the master cylinder in the truck with it hooked up to the pedal?

here are some pics of the sunroof and gas door filled in. the roof of the truck and the roof of the suburban dont have the exact same curve. so it could not be butt welded. he over lapped it and welded it in. then he hammered and dollied it out and only had to use an 1/8 inch bondo. i am going to use seam sealer in the interior part and paint the outside of the roof tomorrow. i forgot to remove the screwdriver before i took the picture.

i here the worst thing for single stage chrome powder coat is heat.i figured i would be o.k. with the hinges. but i will try not touching the hinges with my bare hands to much.

i had to go to a 3rd master cylinder.i got 2 bad corvette masters and had to use a 72 chevelle one. then it bench bled just fine on the firewall and i finally got a pedal back.

here's the chevelle master cylinder. a bit bigger, bulky and not as pretty but it works.
