Re: 72 K20 Cab Body & Paint Complete!
Thanks RCbowtie69. Was away this weekend so I did not get a chance to work on it. Am planning on picking up the bed this Saturday and bolting it on. Will be taking a bunch of pictures and posting.

It's On:metal: The bed that is. Took a trip to Bill's this morning and picked up the bed. First had to get the black Chevrolet letters on the tailgate. Then rolled the bed on his dolly onto the trailer, strapped it down, and took it back to my brother's house where we transplanted it onto the frame. That's Bill in the dark blue below.:chevy:

Re: 72 K20 Cab Body & Paint Complete!
Thanks for the kind comments. Does anyone know if there is a vendor that sells 2.5" stainless exhaust kits for K20s? Thinking I will probably just have to take it to a local exhaust shop.

Have had trouble getting the driver's door to latch. Today I discovered it was due to the push rod on the chrome aftermarket outside door handle being about a 1/4" too long. I pulled an old factory GM handle off another door and noticed that the push rod was shorter. Has anyone else ever experienced that problem with the aftermarket handles?
Also started to hang the driver's fender. Going to put both front fenders on loose and then work on getting the proper spacing. |
Re: 72 K20 Cab Body & Paint Complete!
Looking great.
On the handle, some of the NOS handles have the push rod too long also. Just cut down to the size needed and slightly round the edges so it doesn't bind. |

Have only been able to play with the truck restoration lately on Sunday afternoons. Today Bill and I met at my brother's garage and got both doors and fenders fitted pretty good. Will work on the front grill or the hood next.
Here are some pictures from today. |

Getting closer to getting the K20 on the road but have a lot to do and usually can only work on the weekends.
Hood & grill Recover benchseat Exhaust Trim on sides thinking about adding running lights to cab roof, like that look on K20's ?? spray bedliner on bottom of inner fender skirts and cab plus a lot of detailing Goal is to drive it down to the Ocean City, MD car cruise in May. Cruise is coming up quick. Will be unable to work on the K20 this weekend but will be back on it the following weekend. |

Had help from friends yesterday and family today on the K20.
Yesterday my buddy Johnny C and Jeff M helped get the hood on. Today my sister and her husband and my brother helped with putting together the grill. Then had steamed crabs afterwards. Was a very good weekend:metal:. |
