Starting to second guess my paint colors. The truck I got the colors from is on ebay for sale. Maybe its the lighting but its making me wonder. The first pic is one of the truck and from this I decided these were the colors. Then the link will show the truck under lights. Kind of gives it a funky look. Kind of purple like. The color is indigo blue so I know it is a unique color anyway that has a bit of purple of something but the pics in the link look a bit overboard to me. Of coarse they didn't clean it up very good which doesn't do it any justice. Okay the first pic.

IF by chance I don't go with the above colors then next on the list in no particular order. Midnight Blue, Summit White, or maybe Steel Gray.

My trucks factory paint color is Midnight blue, really nice color from what I saw under the seats, inside door panels etc. I decided to go with Kirkers Bright Cobalt Blue Metallic... What paint code is the blue on that truck? |
Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
Before I seen the ebay listing I was going to have the painter spray the color on something so I could look at it for a couple days to make sure I like it. The pic of the truck in front of the Nascar building almost looks like the Midnight Blue until the sun hits it then it just pops the indigo. I will have to wait for the paint sample to decide first though. If nothing else then I can put the Midnight Blue in place of the Indigo and still have the same paint scheme. Decisions, Decisions.

Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
I like the indigo blue, but because its me my opinion would say go midnight blue or look up its gm metallic blue I think? It has that play on color where under the lights you can see that beautiful blue, but in the shade it's almost a black.
Either way you go the paint job will be sharp!! :metal: Posted via Mobile Device |

Soo tired of the rain. It's been raining for the last four days. Chance of rain until next Tuesday atleast. Here is part of my yard in the lower section between my house and our pasture. It is coming down so hard that it is just flowing from one side to the other over the road. Sucks.
I have two inline sump pumps that are running simutaneously because the sump pit is full and the water is coming in that fast. The pit is full but not running over yet and hopefully won't. I have never had rain this bad to where they were both running together. |

Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
Our basement ended up getting wet. The pumps could not keep the water down enough and eventually ran out onto the floor. Good thing I am in the floor cleaning business and have the equipment to handle this.
No sooner than I got mine half way under control I went up the road and did the same thing for a neighbor that had the same thing going on. Both of our basements were fully finished. Carpet, insulation and drywalled. He had a little more water I think than we did though. He wanted to pay but I told him if we were going to be neighbors then thats just what we do to help each other around here. I am in a rural area so I think that when in need we should always pitch in when needed. Now I have to get going and get some dehumidifiers to get the rest of the moisture out before any mold thinks about moving in. |
Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
Talked to the bodyshop today. I think we are going to start making some progress here. I am at least hoping to get all the body work done, truck in primer , interior painted, firewall, behind cab, front of bed, and door jams all painted and trimmed in. Not sure if I will have enough money as of now to get the whole thing painted or not. I am trying to come up with more funds so I can have the paint job completed. Going with a clear coat so the price goes up with that. So hopefully soon I will start having some updated pics.

Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
Woohoo!!! Glad to hear they are finally working on the truck!

Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
I am still skeptical until I can see some real progress and they start keeping their word. Hopefully they can atleast get done what I posted above so I can start putting it back together and get it closer for its first test drive since the tear down. I will post up some pics as soon as something starts to happen with it.

Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
Awesome man!!
I don't see how you haven't went and ripped them a new one, I would be so pissed off man! I feel like I could of already been done! |
Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
Yeah I feel like it could damn near be done myself. It could have atleast been back home so I could be working on putting it all back together. I have been patient and was going to give them until next month to start on it then pull the plug. My initial plan was to have it done by our annual town car show at the autumn fest we have in mid September but then realized that I wouldn't have all the funds to complete so I laid off the pressure a little.
It will just make me feel better to see them plugging along on it so I can get it back home. I think I am going to take the K30 to a different shop next time so it can have some work done on it. |

I do agree and I probably should have. I will know this next week if I am going to have to pull it. I can't say that I am not pissed about it either.

Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
FINALLY! For the life of me, they have started on my truck. They put two small patch panels in the bed and started to work on the bottom rear corners were a bumper got into the bed. Also where the wheels well lips are tacked together all the factory tack welds were not holding. The caused a couple places where the lips cracked and had to be welded back together.
I have to take them a little money so they can order some materials and start to go ahead and finish out the bed. I think once the bed is done then they are going to blast the cab and start on what work it needs. I am still second guessing my color choice. I will have to make up my mind before it comes time to paint the firewall and door jams. I might just have to put up a poll on the main section and see what they all say again. |
Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
Its about damn time they did something besides play with there thumbs!!!!!
Glad to here the great news man!!! Take some pictures when you go back, photo whore here :) |
