Took my bed apart so I can strip the paint and get to the inside of the panel to knock out the dents out. Striped the hood again due to the piss poor job the guy did I had working on it ,just pilled on the bondo trying to make the round parts flat I guess. Ran out of paint so I just have half of it etch primerd.

Hung my doors back on so I don't have to worry about dropping them.built a fixture to hold the hood to make it easier to work on and don't have to worry about ruining my work that is already done. Then finished my etch primer job.

Re: one piece at a time
whats crazy it takes more effort and money to fill with filler then to hammer and dolly, that just takes free elbow grease!!!
|
Re: one piece at a time
that's a good 1/2" depth of filler!!!
|
Re: one piece at a time
It is thicker than it looks more like one inch. Your right it takes way more effort to putty it than knock it out. filler is great in moderation like alcohol.

Re: one piece at a time
Nice to have laser straight panels. Well...when the old compressor goes out its just a good excuse to buy a bigger one! lol
|
Re: one piece at a time
Man I wish it was laser strait ,it just looks that way in primer.it has some waves and the wheel well caught up on something and was pushed forward, had to pull it back still needs more work. also the end cap has some pretty good dents. Man I wish I could get a bigger air compressor I have Ben virtually broke I have been spending most of my money on the truck or tools for work. Other than that life's grate can't complain just keep on keeping on.

Re: one piece at a time
Woo purity.I was wanting to do something similar but with the green.the headers i will paint cast iron color with manifold paint. But think I'm going to sell my clifford and get a new one with the water heater built in like yours, but not sure about it yet have any thoughts on the intake ?
