Thanks clem I would love a 60-61 twin headlight grill . I think we can bring one home on the plane if it's in a ski bag . Rian plans to bring his mouldings home in one . We are going to look really strange in shorts and ski bags on the way home . I don't think there is snow that time of year .

Looks like a few of your 4 headlight grilles are missing the headlight rings, I just happen to have a set that I am fixing to throw away because I will never build a 4 headlight truck.

sunday afternoon my girl and i took a trip out into the wilderness. we were in search of a utility bed truck that was in decent shape. many miles later we happened upon the place only to learn that decent means different things to different folks. plus it wasn't a true utility bed, just a step-side half ton with some boxes bolted to the sides. kind of homemade and not well done. we looked around the property and found some cool old cars as well as a couple of trucks but really nothing i wanted to drag home... especially since they had submerged to the axles with trees growing all around.
live and learn... at least he was a nice guy.

it was a fun drive and a little bit scary. with all the rain, there was a bunch of missing road and washouts to avoid but fortunately no banjo music. so that was good.

it is fun to lift the hood on a old truck, check out the interior, the bed... see whats left and try to figure out what kind of life it had. most around here were hard working trucks and pretty beat up. but theres a few diamonds out there.

gonna dedicate this weekend to taking pics of the projects. will post up soon.
and thanks guys. i do appreciate it.

Just noticed spell checker turned atmospheric in to something including heroic

I think that has to be good, looking at the forensic story a truck tells.

May give you a ring later on.

Looking forward to "helping" but more importantly, learning from your boss Clem.

Feeling privileged, even before landing there.

Really looking forward to this. Even though it must be the furthest I have traveled to a show 4500 miles in fact I am sure it'll be worth it though . Best of all will be getting to meet the guys who's build threads we've been following for the inspiration for our builds, and to top it all off what way to celebrate my 50th birthday

Good to speak to you last night Clem...... I will discuss what we discussed with Martin as well.

Even better, was speaking to Kim while you sorted the boys out...... She will be wearing a hat when we boil the shrimp, and I will be the guy in the "Straight Jacket"

Really good to chat to the two of you.

its been awhile but we got back on the 65 short bed patina truck. patched the rust and there was quite a bunch and i will patina match the paint. also used a bed from another truck so it will need some paint work to look right. installed a grill surround from a green truck which will also need some matching. the plan was to build a hotrod truck with a nice interior and engine compartment but have a patina baby blue exterior.

heres where it is as of today...
