Re: ls turbo build
Nice score. I think that's about what I paid for mine too.
|
Re: ls turbo build
I didn't go back and re-read your build, but are you planning on running A/C? I'm curious as to turbo placement and if the C6 manifolds would all me to run something like a Vinatage Air setup.
|
Re: ls turbo build
Yes running ac that's why i bought these manifolds.. Im getting excited.. ac system should be here today when i get home...:metal:
|
Re: ls turbo build
Sweet. I'm here at LS Fest and getting too many ideas. Quite a few nice turbo set ups.

Re: ls turbo build

stainless headers, I will have to add a 3/8 flange with 2 gaskets to move the passenger header away from the ac compressor...

Re: ls turbo build

made my own coil relocation brackets.. out of unistrut..
|
Re: ls turbo build
Nice headers and I dig the coil relocaters.
|
Re: ls turbo build
Are those the Ebay turbo headers?
|
Re: ls turbo build
Not sure, bought them from an individual.. welds and everything look good. Plus they are 1 3/4 ports and I think the ebay headers are 1 5/8.. either way im going to have them jethot coated. If they are ebay headers hope the coating will make them last
|
Re: ls turbo build
I wouldn't worry about them. I put a set of ebay china stainless longtubes on an LS swap build, and they are holding up really well. Huge bang for the buck.

Re: ls turbo build
LONGTUBES. On an NA setup. I would never hang turbos directly off of a thin tube header. lol.

Re: ls turbo build
my turbo is not going to have any stress on the headers either..

Re: ls turbo build
Any updates my build is very similar to yours keep up the good work

Re: ls turbo build

Re: ls turbo build
Very Cool. I have changed directions on my LS build and am about to pull the trigger on ordering a turbo set up. I'm following Denmah's sloppy type build from LS1tech. Most likely doing a VS Racing set up for now.
Like you, I want to keep the AC. What bracket did you have on the AC comp at first? And now you have a bracket from LSbrackets.com? Would you mind posting a link if you get time? Would you want to sell the C6 manifolds you started with since you're doing headers now? Keep up the nice work! Love the build. |
Re: ls turbo build
Thanks.. both ac brackets came from lsbrackets.com . They don't make the bracket that I had anymore.. but you can call them to make sure..I sold mine. I'm not using the c6 manifolds or the truck manifolds.. so I will let them go..

Turbo in.. cold side left and downpipe
|
Re: ls turbo build
Any more of how u routed into turbo? Assuming u ran divided hotside all the way to turbo
|
Re: ls turbo build
Just a question, if you are fix mounting your turbo to the frame and have no flex joints in your hot side what are you going to do to stop the pipe from breaking due to engine movement?
The only time I have ever seen a turbo fix mounted to the chassis was on a car with engine plates. Maybe I am missing something on your setup but if I am not you might want to consider this. |
