I don't think I posted a completed pic... Slapped it together and drove it all summer and I was very impressed with the power of the LS.

Here is my project. 1965 fleet side short bed. 2005 5.3L with LS6 intake, ported DBW throttle body. Comp Cams LSR cam .604/.610 lift. LS Engine Dual Valve Spring Kit with Comp push rods. The trans is a 4L60E built by a friend of mine. The rear end is new with Aburn posi with 3.73 gears. I converted the wiring harness with help from LT1 swap.com. It's coming together slow but steady.
The way I purchased it: http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/...roject/380.jpg http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/...roject/383.jpg The frame done with fresh powder coating: http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/...t/IMG_1343.jpg Ready for the install: http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/...transplant.jpg Installed and ready for the wiring: http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/...IMG_1794-1.jpg Hopefully will be ready for the summer cruising!!!!!!:chevy: |

Re: LS swappers, post up your pics!!
Got the lq4 started this weekend. This is a short clip of the first start up. The engine sounds good and has quick revs. Aluminum flywheel and a good tune help the revs. I can't wait to get it on the road but I have a lot of work yet before that happens.

Thanks guys! The headers fit great and Im pleased with them. However the black coating they came with was almost wore off in the box, so I ceramic coated them before putting them on.

Re: LS swappers, post up your pics!!
Hey gents, I have a question....
My 68 has the LS1 in it, and i have been using a Mr. Gasket/Spectre universal throttle cable, since i am using the factory C10 pedal. The only issue is that i have replaced this sucker 3 times already, and it just broke again. I am tired of replacing this with something that will fail again. What are you all using for your throttle cable?? I know a lot of you guys are running the DBW setup, but this is more directed at the cable swappers Any Help would be greatly appreciated!! |
