did a little more work on the replacement dash, wire wheeled the paint off, and cut out the radio hole. i offset the hole to the right because i am going to add a push button starter on the left side of it. i also might add a few other things as well but not sure yet, and i would have to figure out what exactly that would be first lol.

oh wasnt your truck a custom cab

project 67 sub 01-17-2011 03:26 AM

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

i dont think so as it was not a truck lol. i dont think burbs had the same upgrade (cst, etc.) options like the trucks did.

67chevy1series 01-17-2011 03:29 AM

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

not much of an update as of yet, but, just some messing around. took a pic of the current engine setup as i dont have a pic of that in here. i also pulled the springs out of the front to see how low it is. still need to finish the lower arms, and install bags and spindles, but i only have 3/4" before the arms hit the grond:devil::metal:

that is a nice garage!

project 67 sub 01-17-2011 09:27 PM

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

haha thanks, and its nice to finally have a garage to park and work on my burb in. the side to the left with the dirt bikes, is my little bros and the tool side, mines in the middle, and my dad and little bros gf side is to the right of my burb.

kev2809 01-17-2011 09:31 PM

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

so your front will be 3/4" lower than it is now after you get your spindles, bags, and arms in?

i was wondering because i would like to see how level it would sit. i really want to move my rear bags but if its gonna have a dump out back lower than the front, im not sure i should do that.

project 67 sub 01-17-2011 09:42 PM

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

haha yah but thats fine with me lol. as i have some other plans for it sometime down the road to solve that issue with the front sitting higher

kev2809 01-17-2011 09:48 PM

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

lol frame z?

should look good..im thinking of moving my bags on the axle and try my hand at welding...hmmm...

project 67 sub 01-17-2011 09:57 PM

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

might have somone z it lol but not sure yet on that. their really isnt to much room over the axle if you go inside the frame rails as i thought about that, you also dont get as much lift. so the only way to have plenty of room with an over axle setup is on the outside of the frame rails, and then a double convoluted bag doesnt ride the best for that kind of set up. for that you would need a tapered sleeve bag

kev2809 01-17-2011 10:03 PM

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

good point. i was thinking of getting the offset brackets though...that mount the bags in front of the axle, then you can run a bridge bar above it. would it still allow the truck to lay the frame on the ta's?

project 67 sub 01-17-2011 10:09 PM

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

i dont see why not if its done correctly. will probably have to use blocks or the pb t/a's as well though

kev2809 01-17-2011 10:16 PM

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

ya, i have blocks already, im just sort of thinking out the box. i really would like to try and weld this stuff up myself. the worst that could happen is it starting bend but ill notice it before anything drastic happens and just re do it.

hows the arms coming along?

project 67 sub 01-17-2011 10:20 PM

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

still need to cut out all of the plate and box in the bottom of them, getting kind of anxious(sp) to finish them lol.
