Makes sense now. I guess I missed out on that truck racing. The modern versions run single axle.
Here's one to want for........Bill??? |

Re: GM Semis
Tim,
Now that I look a little closer, that is a good example of an early 9500 Long Nose. It looks like it is a '66 or a '67. Pretty rare. Bill |
Re: GM Semis
That is the ultimate 9500 for me right there

Re: GM Semis
Nice trucks. Notice both trucks have the factory optional Triple Air Horns.
Speaking of Air Horns, I was able to finally pick up a nice set of original GMC Hadley Air Horns at a local swap meet. These are the standard option twin set found on most '60's and '70's Chevy and GMC trucks with Air Brakes. Bill |
Re: GM Semis
Wow what are the chances of the same stripe on both trucks. Too dang cool.

Re: GM Semis
Speaking of Air Horns again, there are none on the 9500 above.
...very, very rare. Maybe ordered with Air Horns delete? |

Re: GM Semis
Here is a GM.
RISS bought over 500 of these "Cannonballs". RISS was based here in Kansas City and all the Cannonballs were delivered through Westfall GMC here in KC. I have a giant 2 page ad from 1955 that shows the trucks in Westfalls lot. Its to big to scan, Otherwise I would post it. http://i911.photobucket.com/albums/a...6_NEW_0001.jpg |

Those are great photos of the Riss trucks, now I have question, bought this truck about a year ago but haven't had time to do any research on it. Not very good pic but hope to have better pics of truck and data plate tomorrow. What number series is it. Its a 1980 Brigidere, 671 detroit, 5 and 2 and air brakes. What makes it a Brigidere instead of a number designation? more info tomorrow.

Re: GM Semis
That is a puzzle to me. I was ready to call it a 7500 model, till I saw the 2-piece Windshield.
I also notice it has 6-Spoke Wheels instead of 5. Is it possibly Canadian made? |

Re: GM Semis
I didn't notice. The fuel tanks say top kick to me. I wonder if the cab is older than the chassis.

Re: GM Semis
Could be. Unless someone just put the step tank on there.
|
Re: GM Semis
it doesn't matter to me if its a cab swap or for real, its still great, can't remember the last time I saw something like that on the road around here. I have a 1982 gmc 7000 4X4 with 10 hole budds, I also have a spare narrow nose pete cab and aluminum tilt hood that needs something done with it, been thinking about it along time to. I know its fairly high up on the wierd scale but it would be interesting?

Can't tell if it is a '64 or a '66, but I especially like that Red Tanden Dump above. |
