I pulled out the old motor (350) & trans (4speed) & put in the 350/350. I had the radiator redone, I replaced the doors with original doors from a 1971 Chev motor home & they are almost like new. I put in an original newly upholstered seat. It put in a HEI distributor with new wires. I have some nice 10" original six lug rally's ready to put on with caps & trim rings. I want to get it running in the next month & then have it as a rolling restoration. The trouble is I just had someone make me an offer that is hard to pass up ito:

Maybe! I haven't decided if I want to sell it or not, I was really excited about seeing it completed. But then again I also have another project. My 62 short fleet big back window:ito:

Nice truck, is the 90's truck bed a direct bolt in or did you have to mod the frame to make it fit?

demon79 04-06-2010 02:13 AM

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

the bed was a 91' it didnt fit right so i sold it. it was aboutr an inch to wide on both sides. the po put it on there because it had no bed when he got it. the cab is a 69' with 68' trim screwed to it.the truck is on a late70's early 80's frame

What did you use for headders and did you move the engine in any direction or is it in the stock location?

Now I don't feel as bad seeing what you are starting with. My looks bad, but yours tops the cake. What are your plans for it?

Used Flowtech ceramic headers off ebay. I bought the ones for a K-20 with a Big Block. They bolted right up zero issues. Only thing is I did not put the motor in Previous Owner did. I don't think it was moved any direction BUT the truck does have a 3" Body Lift and through this board I have read that helps with the Big Block fitting better. Although alot of the 2wd guys have done the 454 conversion with no lift. Sorry for lack of help.

I have gotten very lucky with this truck........so far as I have taken many chances so far and so fat everything has gone smooth. The engine was rebuilt 500 miles ago and then just sat in the truck for 2 years, got it off a guy with a row of old chevy's on his property.
