Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.
I went a 8.87 @82.55 with a 2.06 60' in my truck a couple weeks ago. This was in 4x4 low range with the front driveshaft out. The truck weighs 5300# with me in it. I went a 9.19 @81 in 2wd high range. It has a pretty bad stumble in high range until the motor gets up in RPM. Hopefully I will get it fixed and get back to the track next week.

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.
I am running a 408 LS stroker with a 74mm holset turbo. I am running 6psi of boost right now. After I get the water/meth injection hooked up and get the carb stumble fixed I plan on running about 10 psi. Hopefully low 8's or high 7's will be in the future.

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.
Well my truck is a 1970 C10,SWB, I was running a 383 stroker with small valve iron heads and a holly performer intake with a edelbrock 750 carb. i was running a turbo 350, a GM 12 bolt with 3.73 and limit slip and a 345/55/r15 bf goodwrench Comp T/A street radial. With driver it weight 3500lbs. I started at 17.8s so we picked up a couple of seconds. i am restoring her right now, doing a 67 front clip. trying to decide on a new motor. lookin at a carbed 6.0 vortec out of a 99 or newer chevy truck or a 468 big block havent decided yet

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.
Took mine to Steele this past Sunday. FIrst time for the truck at the track in 5 years. Could not get to run out the back with the too tight converter, and went 1.24 60' 5.61 at 123 mph in the 1/8. Coasted through 1/4 in neutral to a 9.52 et. lol Hope to figure out how to post some videos in the next couple days. Paul Baxter

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.
Sweet Paul. I am glad you got it back to the track. I can't wait to see it run. I am sure you will get all the kinks out!
Which tire were you running? |
Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.
DANG! that's getting after it in the 60'.... wait yep just plain getting after it.
I have big block ENVY. well done Paul. |
Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.
Thanks guys, We have a lot left in the 60', i am hoping for 1.17-1.18 area, but on 28x10.5's. I had 29.5x10.5 tire on it Sunday. I will have to wait until spring to play again. I did not run the et that I wanted, but it was overall, very pleasing to get those #'s first time out, and bring it home unhurt! Paul Baxter

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.
Paul just curious what your truck weighs?, and what the front rear percentage is now with the new front suspension. Your running 2 kits, have you seen anyone using Jeff Procks (Applied Nitrous Technology) new solenoids? They are really mean on 1 kit LOL. Guys around here love them with a nitrous controller on true 10,5s.
Thanks Mark |

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.
Paul, I cant get over how light your truck is. I basically have the same truck with a fleetside bed, and I figured it would weigh around 3600-3700 lbs. Im checking into acid dipping the cab, doors, and all front sheet metal, and leaving it in the tank a while LOl. I figured about 55% frontal weight. I was going to use a power steering pump ,A/C, alternator, and a vacuum pump. Did you move the engine back? It doesnt look like much if you did.
The guys with the Prock solenoids are using 50 pills on 1 kit. His new solenoid has a bigger inlet on it. It will make about 750 h.p. with that kit. With a controller they run 4.90s to 5.0s on the true 10.5 at 3480 lbs. Were going to try a drag radial with a car at minumum weight like that. Be interesting to see what it does. Thanks Mark |
Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.
Mark, mine was 59% front weight with a cast block, aluminum head BBC, and stock front suspension converted to rack and pinion steering. Dropped to 54% after replacement of front suspension with chromoly tubular replacement arms, cross member, etc. Then should be less with rear lowered 2 1/2 ", and adding 2 full nitrous bottles in front of the tailgate. It still has all steel except for the hood, all glass except rear window, carpet, 2 seats, factory steering column. At this time, I do not have a bed floor in it, but am considering a 3 piece aluminum floor, and have wood hydrographics applied. I like the sericeability of the rear suspension, when there is no bed floor. I plan to make it removable with dzus fasteners. Hope this helps with any ideas to lose weight. The front suspension was the single largest weight loss, as it weighed 3410 before with driver. Paul

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.
Paul,
You are making me want to spend the money on the front suspension.. I suspect I will be around 3,350lbs with me in the truck after the powerglide swap, backhalf/4-link, loss of my 125lb tailgate, and the addition of the cage. I know my 51/49 weight balance I had at 3,650lbs will be long gone. But if I could get to 3,150lbs, I might be getting closer to the 9.9x NA goal I have set for 3 years :) |

70 c10.
469 BB. 10:1 with 088 rectangle port heads and a comp cams xm 278. 24-2600 stall th350 and a ford nine inch with 3.50 gears and a spool.28x12.50 et street bias ply. Untuned with a vac secondary 750 holley DP with a proform center section. First time running it at the truck. Running a strip dominator. Through longtubes and 3" exhaust with mufflers. 3rd run trans started over heating and slipping so i went home 13.55 @ 101.1 60 ft 2.019 RT .048 NEXT STEP... taking the strip dominator off for a Performer RPM Air gap. Was running the strip dominator because it was the only rectangle port intake i had at the time. Gonna play with the timing some and change the secondary spring. I was happy I beat a c6 vette, a new 5.0 mustang on skinnies and drag radials and a new body style camaro ss. |
