What type of adhesive is that gun for?

Re: my '64 c-10 swb project with steel floor from a '70

parts look great. really glad you got your glass. i love the glove box lid it looks awesome. the adhesive gun is for the panel bond looks just like the one i have you will like the panel bond, its easy and no mess, you dont have to mix anything it mixes itself as it comes out the aplicator tip, just make sure to wipe off any excess before it dries because its some tuff stuff.

Re: my '64 c-10 swb project with steel floor from a '70

The back window is not too hard to install. Wrap the glass with the strip and put a rope in the channel. You can tape the rubber in place around the window to hold it. Use glass cleaner as lube and press it up against the hole pulling the rope and opening the weather strip up to grab the window edge. Sometimes tite in the corners, you'll see!!;) If you dont want to buy the lockstrip tool, you can use a screwdriver or small trim tool to open the groove. Just slide it at a roughly 30* angle and press the lock bead in the hole right behind the tool. You will have sore fingers!! Eventually you will get done......with this , anyway.

Re: my '64 c-10 swb project with steel floor from a '70

williamsboys, they are "Hooker Competition Headers Full-Length Painted 1 5/8" Primaries 2452HKR" they sell for about $200 a set but i got them for $99.99 off ebay, they say they were used long enough to break the motor in and then the guy wanted chrome headers!!
captain, the gun is for 200ml 1:1 ratio adhesive cartriges really but with a little mod. to one of the pistons i can use the 3m 2:1 duramix/automix panel adhesive cartriges in it! i started messing with it when i realized it wont work with the 3m duramix/automix panel adhesive!
flips, thanks for the comments, and i wish winter will come and go already so i can but the glass in, lol!! i bought the gasket and the bead lock tool today and new heater control knobs and the center level for a total of $58
protrash, ya i cant wait! does anyone have a how-to video as to installing the rear glass in our trucks? i dont think it will be that hard to do and i dont want to pay some one to do something i can do with a lil time! thanks guys for the comments and checking in on me!!

Looking real good there man!
I need to stop working such long hours at work so it is not so drag-ass late when I get home. Right now I dont even look at my rig Mon thru Fri.

LeSigh

Keep the pics coming, especially that heater control assembly please.
Wife said she mangled the one at the junkyard getting our deluxe heater box off before I knew I would want/need it.

thanks Chad,
So far I have the deluxe heater box with the recirc vent and cable for a normal truck that only has the fan on-off switch.
I just want to see how you put yours back together, as I was tossing and turning last night I wondered why a control assembly from some other 60s era General Motors vehicle would not work.

I will ponder this more as I look for updates from ya ;o)

I like that Chevrolet script panel on the glove box door, very cool looking trim piece. Good to see you're still going Chad, keep it up! Hopefully I can get back to work on mine soon. :waah:

mcmurphy, i'll take pictures when i put it back together, i'm waiting on parts! the center lever was broke, and i'm pondering on butting the black level knobs on or some other kind, billet or something! i'll keep you posted as to what i end up doing!!

fryer, thanks for the comments, the trim piece is plastic and has two broken taps on it, so i'm going to buy another and paint it to match the silver i'm going the trim pieces outside of the truck!!

well i started taking the heater box apart, then realized that the part that bolts to the cowl was broke on one side! so i started taking it apart so maybe someone would have it, i would like to just get the part i'm looking for instead of a whole heater box! anyways heres a few pictures of the part i need to fix the heater, i dont want to put it on the truck the way it is! even thou it wouldn't hurt it any, i just want it to look right! second picture right top side you can see it's bent, last picture is of the broken piece, to give you a better picture of why i'm needing to replace this whole piece!!

ok, while i was mocking the headers up yesterday i realized i need to move the motor back a lil, to the back set of hole on the crossmemeber! the tubes were hitting the lower control arm, and with the motor having a long water pump it would be best if i move the motor back anyways! i also put the grille panel on and the grille just to see it looking like a truck again, and i wanted to see what the heater face panel would look like on the dash so i got pictures of it too! anyways heres some pictures of what i did!!

Hey man,
I have a spare heater set up, and took some pics of it for you.
When I was in the garage I could not remember which one you needed, so I am adding a pic of each.
The part I think you want, that I have is for a regular heater core, though you could cut it to the 9.5" deluxe size.
You are welcome to either part, or both, just shoot me a PM with a good mailing address and I will try to get it out in the snail-mail to you this week!

Hope this helps.

Ok that does not look impossible to figure out!
Thanks for the pics, and here are some more for you!!
To make this a "deluxe" all you would have to do is cut out the fresh air hole larger, about 2 or 3 inches and re-drill the heater core mounting holes.
And in pic #4 remove that rusted vent baffle. Then this will bolt(screw) right onto the rest of the heater box you have.

Forgot to mention it is all straight, no dents or dings to it.

Enjoy

Re: my '64 c-10 swb project with steel floor from a '70

mcmurphy, thanks alot!

alan, i'm going to paint the motor and trans first, i might try to get that done this weekend! then i'll but it in and move it back an install the headers, the exhaust will still be a lil under the frame rail!

protrash, i believe the drill bit i used to drill the holes was a 3/32! the things that look like rivets are not, drill the tips of them off, take it apart! cut off the the things that look like metal dowels, drill the holes, put your screws in! then if you ever want to take it apart you can just unscrew it and paint it!
one more thing the two screws that hold the plate for the light! you'll need #6 1/2" screws and get #6 washers, and between the heater face panel and the light bracket put the washers! that way theres a gap between the plastic piece and the metal piece for the light to shine through, and the two pieces aren't pressed together!

hey chad what kind of fan blade do you need. I have one off an orginal 57 heater, motor was shot so I ditched it but kept the blade.. It is in what appears to be very good shape... no dents or dings. 4 bladed and about 8 inches across maybe a little smaller, its in the garage and its 4 in the morning, I look later when I get up if you are interested...or if it would work for you..;):chevy:
