Re: Post Pics of your Static Drops!!
66Gregg, That's perfect. I've got 2 1/2" spindles and 1" coils up front and 5" in the back but it's still torn apart. Great to see I'm on the right track. Thanks.

Re: Post Pics of your Static Drops!!
Ive got an '84 front crossmember under mine with stock springs and factory springs in the rear. How big of a block can I add to the rear without worryin about the axle hitting the frame? Id kinda like to keep the stock spring rating. I have a set off stock Jeep coils off my Jeep but I heard they wont hold much if you haul anything. Also, what would be a cheap and quick way to lower the front just a couple inches? I thought about cutting the springs in the rear, but how do you remount them since the part that attaches to the mount would be gone?

Re: Post Pics of your Static Drops!!
Hey badriand...
You just have coils and shocks on the back, or a cnotch too? What about panhard bar or shock relocators? I'm about to buy a 3/5 spring and shock kit and am wondering if I will be ok in the back with just that, thanks! Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Post Pics of your Static Drops!!
Oops for to add ApacheWillard. Yea i have a C-notch on back and a shorter panhard bar. No shock relocators. I did a notch with 5" coils on back and had tons of clearance ( at that time really didn't need notch). Now that i have added 2 inch blocks with the 5 inch coils i need the notch. Can't say for sure if you need notch or not (you can always add later or just take coils off and drop truck down and see what kind of clearance you have without notch.

Re: Post Pics of your Static Drops!!
I also did mine 5" and 7"
front- 3" springs-2" spindles rear--5" springs-2" block (slightly shaved and angled for pinion) I C-notched the frame along with an adjustable panhard bar. The top of the rear is actually closer to the bed wood than the rear to the C-notch. I have about 3" from the rear to the wood. No problems though 20" wheels all the way around |

New to the forum and thought I'd learn about posting pictures. This is my work in progress/daily driver when theres not 6 feet of snow blowing around way up here. It's only lowered a little but I figure that counts for something.

Re: Post Pics of your Static Drops!!
I see alot of people on here with six lugs who say they are using drop spindles. What spindles are you using, and did you have to change to disc brake set up? What rotors are you using if so?

Re: Post Pics of your Static Drops!!

The aftermarket drop spindles that you see are set up for HD brake using the 1 1/4" rotors vs the LD 1" rotors. So if you buy the drop spindles you can run stock HD 1 1/4" 5 lug rotors or aftermarket 6 lug rotors... OR you could run the 6 lug rotor on a stock HD spindle if you don't want the drop. I'm unaware of a LD brake rotor option that would allow you to run 6 lug wheels... Let us know what you come up with and PICS are always fun too! |

Re: Post Pics of your Static Drops!!
cut 1.5 coils up front off of stock spring; rear has 1998 jeep grand cherokee rear coils with 1 coil cut and 1-5/8" lowering blocks (they were 2" blocks)
rides smooth and handles great for a cheap drop http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/1508/img2016d.jpg |
