Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
I'd like to see what this one turned out like in the end...unless it's already finished?

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Anybody else notice the 2 and 3 doors are facing the wrong way? I would drive it though.. not daily, but would make a hell of a limo.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
i saw that, and i'd sure like to get a look at the driver's side of the truck, but that was the only pic i could find!

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Hey cabinmaster, how difficult is the front end swap from regular truck to the d60.

sorry, i wish i knew. mine is a regular 2 ton, frame and all. i know the cabs are the same as a standard p/up, but the firewall i think is different, and of course all the front end sheet metal, etc. the cab floor may be a bit flatter too (low hump), but i don't think that would matter much, as there's acres of room under these things. i know it can be done, and here's a pic i found online of a suburban with a topkick (i think) running gear & front end grafted onto it: http://industrialguitar.com/truckpix.../bigburban.jpg |
Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
i use to know an old guy that like to play around with the c60's and he said about the only part interchangeable was the doors he told me that the hood was wider at the cowl then that of the pickups
take it for what its worth he was in his late 70's at that time and a little forgetful |
Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
i only have experience with the 73-87 styles of these big trucks, and don't know about the earlier years, but the hood on these is totally different than a pickup, and curves down on both sides about 6" or so. i imagine the cowl and firewall must be different, and wish i had a standard 73-87 to compare measurements with.
if anyone needs measurements to compare, i'd be glad to measure the firewall, etc on mine for you. i've had the windshields replaced in both my big trucks, and it is the standard one for a 73-87 regular p/up. The doors, cab, glass, seats, trim, dash (with the exception of some extra panel lights, etc) are all the same. that makes it nice, as there's lots of aftermarket stuff for the 73-87 body styles, and some good donor trucks/burbans out there still. |

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
I want a crew cab. Really want a 2wd dually. If I could find one to take the place of my SWB I would in a heartbeat.
