Thanks everyone!!!

Today, I'm going to bolt up the tranny, And do a dry fit.
I think that this cross member may have to be removed,(pic below)
In order to run a SBC with a THM350c tranny.

67chevy1series 01-05-2011 06:55 PM

Re: 68 C 10 stepside "My American Bulldog"

When you lower a truck, You change the geometry
of the trailing arms. By moving the pivot point from
bottom to top, You get about 3 1/2" of that back.
This will help the handling and ride.

So 4" rear drop, it'd be a good idea to flip flop my trailing arm crossmember?

I just turned the clips over. And you don't have to do it,
It's just to help handling a little.

Hmm, well If I ever get bored, I"ll buy some grade 8 hardware and flip flop em, im all about better handling from these trucks..

Speaking of better handling..

You should get a 1 ton swaybar from 73-87 and mount it on your truck with new bushings, it helps ALOT!

Thanks a lot,
It's feeling like progress.

Here is an engine caddy I built.
I seen it somewhere, Just can't remember where.
It worked great as a mobile stand,
If I make another one, I might put bigger wheels on it :D
I thought some of you may be interested.

Well, After dry fitting the engine and transmission earlier this week.
I found that I needed to remove the manual transmission cross member,
I wanted to leave it in if I could, For added strength. Found the correct
hight for the automatic transmission cross member, Cut the tabs off of it,
And welded some plate steel brackets onto it. It looks almost factory. :D

Well, The billet bolt-ons have been pretty cheap.
There's a speed shop in Columbus GA. That deals
in volume. He has an ebay store as well.

http://stores.ebay.com/abad71camaro?_rdc=1

But I have to keep stepping on that "Might as well bug"
That keeps trying to get in my ear. :)
Now that "You really need to bug", Can be a pain in the a$$.
I just hope he doesn't get in my ear tomorrow, And tell me
that I need a total rebuild kit for my tranny:(

Budget? I get what I need, When I can afford it. LOL

Spike:smoke:

P.S. Looking for a 12 bolt posi chunk

It's not a complicated as you would think.
As long as you document everything you take off.
Including where the check valves are.
I lay the clutches and rings out in order.
Presoak the new ones, and re install.
