glad to hear they took care of you. couldn't you modify your brake plumbing ends? but then again...if you're talking about the "old" brake lines...you're better off starting out with new ones with all new brakes.

That's kinda what I was thinking. I think I will go with the stainless set, just so I don't have to worry about them ever again.

Here are a few pics of the final engine install. I think it came out looking like a factory install.

Here is a pic of the CPP brake setup (upgraded to 73-87 parts) with 2.5" drop spindles and 2" drop coils. I purchased the CPP "Grand Slam" so I still have the back to do and install the new master cylinder/booster.

Thanks for everyone's kind words. It is nice to see someone else in Rancho building a C10. Perhaps we'll have a 2 person truck club when I'm done.:bann:

Check out the new seats I installed yesterday. The driver's side is a power seat. They are out of a 2003 Avalanche (so I'm told) and they fit very nicely. I haven't decided what I want to do for a center console.

I also got the rear 6" CPP drop springs in. Check out the new stance. I like it.

Wasn't hard at all. The bolt holes line up with the factory support rails (on 1 side of each seat, since the old one was a bench), I just had to drill new holes. They fit in there perfectly.

I was going to, but everyone on here says it's not needed. I would rather not hack up the frame if it is not needed. Besides, I would have to move my reg/filter setup.

I've been thinking about a set of seats like that. Is there plenty of room to mount a '67-'72 or the later console? Like the one in the '70s-'80s?

Plenty of room between the seats. It's pouring rain outside right now, so I don't want to take the cover off to measure, but I'm sure it will fit. I was considering a factory console as well, but I like the cup holder style and they are hard to find in mint condition.

That looks like a nice option. I liked the built in seat belts on the factory ones. Made for an easier install for me.

You said you used the ECE mounts HERE. Did you also use their adapter plates or make your own? The ones in the pictures look like the 73 up style motor perches. I am trying to decide whether to use this style or the old school single bolt style....advice?

I used the ECE ls motor install kit. I also used their trans x-member and everything bolted in perfectly. I highly suggest it.

I also got this engine cover to dress it up a bit. I think it looks tough. It is GM part# 12625893.

how did you find this engine cover? did it come on a gm production vehicle? how much was it?

also, what brand and tire size are on your truck? it all looks good!

thanks, jake

It was the same one that was on my 2008 Tahoe. I liked the way it looked on there, so I just went with that. I think it was around $60 from the stealership.

They are 295/50-15 Futura Super Sport GLS tires. I don't like them myself, so when I get my 20's I'll be selling these. I'll let you know. I'll make you a great deal on the set.

What radiator hoses did you use? I have a 71 chev C-10 and am installing a 2001 5.3 out of a GMC Suburban and the GMC Suburban hoses are too small for the 71 Radiator fittings?
