Re: 72 Suburban Build
I can so relate, we are in a "depressed" economy and yet you cannot purchase a product in a timely manner, nor get an honest/accurate time frame for delivery of goods PAID FOR in advance! Drives me crazy, I own my own business, and deal with this type of bs on a weekly basis....sure makes me appreciate the fine Customer Service that is out there.,...albeit to far and in between.
Vent on man, and you know the only way to impact business that do not follow through with their product or ship dates?!...cancel orders and do business elsewhere! On a completely different rant....your 'Burb is gorgeous....exactly what I want to do suspension wise to mine!! |
Re: 72 Suburban Build
yes that bites !! the same run around i am getting from the people building my Tubz..!! i hope it come to an end pretty quick !!
|
Re: 72 Suburban Build
The other thing that gets me is when they f-up and don't send me something that I paid for, they just ship it regular UPS ground. If I had a business, was way late on shipping something and left something out, you can bet your A$$ that I'd be sending that stuff next day air.

Re: 72 Suburban Build
Also, thanks for the compliments everyone. I really appreciate. It makes the long hours worth it.

Rear fenders are done. Now I need to make some frame for doors so there is access to the gas tank and battery/compressor.

Re: 72 Suburban Build
have you started the under dash mount pedal kit yet? I am wondering how it fits and what fab is required to get it in there. I purchased the CPP chrome sealed unit.... have not installed it but would like to clean up the fire wall when I finally get in there. Are you going to install the remote resiv for the master cyl?
Seems like we all have had issues with several companies, from forgetting to ship out the orders, to sending them incomplete, or making you wait stupid amounts of time.. waiting for the brown truck to pull up.... waiting... waiting.... waiting..... oh wait is that him?...... nope its the next door neighbors viagra shipment... oh well Ill keep waiting. |

Secure those panels with dzus fasteners.
Then carpet right over them. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Self-E...ign=GoogleBase |

Well today was all about trying to make it a little cooler while working on the Burb. I bought a 36" 12,000cfm fan for the garage and moved the Burb into the garage. Its getting too hot to work on it outside in the sun. My Touareg has lost garage privileges for a few weeks.

Re: 72 Suburban Build
Well its not just any Touareg. It has a twin Turbo V10 diesel with right at 670 ft-lbs of torque. Its a BEAST!! As for the Burb, wiring is the name of the game this week. Today was spent coming up with a plan.

Re: 72 Suburban Build
Lol. I put mine in the garage a while back. My poor nova had been outside.... She's probably pissed. Lol. Oh well.

The good-Jon has said he will refund my shipping and I received the part today.
The bad-You have to love the nice gouges in it and they still didn't send me everything! I ordered fittings with this and there are no fittings. I wish I could copy and paste my PM to show you all. Best of luck to anyone ordering from them. |
Re: 72 Suburban Build

Don't feel bad...all of mine got deleted too. I'm not going to talk about it anymore. It'll just piss me off. Lets have all of the following posts pertain this this bada$$ suburban im building:metal::metal: |
Re: 72 Suburban Build
Wow, did not know a lot of posts were deleted, and I am all for talking about the amazing build going on here by bruin d.
I do not want to ruffle any feathers on the best automotive forum on the internet....but it concerns me that all discouraging comments (albeit I did not see them, and maybe it was warranted) posted were removed, hope it does not have anything to do with the Vendor being a site supporter... |
Re: 72 Suburban Build
No ones posts were deleted. The vendor related posts were moved to review and the op was informed. Back on topic.. any other site related questions should be in feedback and announcements or pmd to an admin.

Re: 72 Suburban Build
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/f...splay.php?f=26 all posts relating to reviews/deals are on the review board. It has nothing to do with them being site vendors. We don't allow vendors to rip people off/create bad deals and then cover it up. I get really ticked every time people accuse me of that. I have dropped more than one vendor whom does not meet our expectations in customer relations/product quality.

Tell me you attacked the wiring like a possessed madman today?!?!

Re: 72 Suburban Build
pics?
did you use trailer wiring to wire up the valves? i used speaker wire and im thinking of switching it out with trailer wire and running weatherpack connectors to make it like a plug instead of crimping all the wires to a male/female that means wiring it up twice!! |

Also, if you guys are interested in how the Scott's Hotrods situation has turned out, check it out under the review section. The owner (Justin) called me today and we talked for about 40 minutes. He's a good dude.

Re: 72 Suburban Build
Air system is all wired and fully operational!! Here is a video of it.

Re: 72 Suburban Build
Kick ass!
Makes me want to go outside and plumb mine. But I'd have to spray "Pam" down first, so I wouldn't stick to the concrete. 110 in the shade by the pool today. I'm happy looking at it from pool side, with a brew in hand! Happy 4th guys! Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: 72 Suburban Build
are you using the e-level? or setting that up later?
|
Re: 72 Suburban Build
Not using the e-level. Budget wouldn't support it at this time.
