Side of this big ol rock broke off. Looks like "curtains" that you see in caves. Water was to deep or I would have gone for a close up.

How's this for random? When I found this in an antique shop it was labeled "bacon press". Really? An aluminum bacon press, ey? Must be the lightweight model for making curly bacon . I was thinking it might be a pot strainer but what do I know?
|
Re: Random Photos ‘You took’
Yep ,,they made aluminum bacon presses.. we used to have one ,,except it looked like a concrete edging trowel ,, that one you have is old like some of us .

The depot in my town, Mt. Airy, had always been a pharmacy at the people end and a medical center in the cargo end. But recently the big side became a museum I have yet to visit. They also placed a restored caboose across Main St from the depot recently. They built a canopy to shelter it. Mt. Airy came about with the coming of the B&O RR. My house is older than the town.

On our way back to home here in Idaho from lower California a few years ago ..the wife and I stopped off I-80 at a place called Trukee California ,,just before Reno Nevada,,,I believe it was ,,so we could could get a bite to eat and play the slots.. this Bonnie and Clyde car was in a small room of the casino .
A sign said Do Not Touch,, but the kid in me said "stick your fingers in some of them "" Bullet Holes " {{probably from a Tommy Gun}} ... It was in a dark room and all by it's self and I did stick my finger in a few bullet holes... and took this photo please don't tell any one I did this.. lol Attachment 2063995 |
Re: Random Photos ‘You took’
The B&C car along with some German staff car were in a traveling display back in 1972 when I saw them. Not long after the movie was out I think.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’
They may not have gotten shot up if they hadn't advertised in a yellow sign...........:)

The morning ritual. They want animal crackers. That door was shut. The big guy can open it.

Here is what I found on it ,,and it does not mention the place I seen it at Truckee California about 4-5 years ago. ?? Peter Simon II The death car again changed its owner in 1977 when Toddy sold it for $175,000 ($725,000 in today's worth) to Peter Simon II, who displayed it at his casino Pop's Oasis in Nevada. About ten years later, the casino closed and he sold the car to the owners of Whiskey Pete's Hotel and Casino in Primm, Nevada.May 23, 2017 |

As for random photos, here is a picture I took on one of my favorite hike in fishing spots in northern Arkansas. This is what you see when you first exit the trail from the woods. Bluff is about 100 feet tall and the water is probably 15-20 feet deep at the base off to the left out of the photo. |
Re: Random Photos ‘You took’
I saw the car at whiskey Pete's, it matches the the historic pictures. So I think it's the real car. My .02 for whatever it's worth.
