Good progress!
I’d like to see how people respond to your beater at a charging station too

ha ha, me too, my truck budget has always been around $300 per month if that, especially now with two kids in college (FYI the cheapest universities in California are the State schools and they run about $4,500 per semester just for the tuition alone, I was raised to value education so I share this even on this truck forum to help others out to start planning and saving, as getting this info out of these institutions without sending your kid there is like pulling teeth), so this month's money is going towards this new AUTO METER 2142 gauge bezel, new SYLVANIA H5006 low beam headlights (I bought the high beams already a while back), and a replacement door handle

next month I hope to buy a proper charging controller that will allow us to charge at most if not all charging stations (I will do a bit of a write up then on how this works when you don't pull up in an actual OEM vehicle)

nope, not any more, now I am using a 2.4" Nextion Display when I drive it simply shows me Volts of the big battery pack (not the car battery) and the internal temperature of the Inverter (metal box that changes DC electricity coming from the battery to AC electricity which the electric motor wants) sorry explaining in basic terms for other readers to benefit

brilliant question, the first gen Chevy Volt onboard battery charger that I am using spits out CAN messages, and I use some open source software that I downloaded from GitHub and tweaked to display (again on the little 2.4" Nextion screen) what AC amps and volts I am pulling from my wall socket and what DC amps and volts it is pushing into the big battery pack, I think it is set to refresh every second

ha ha, totally get it, but have you ever seen an LS Swap in progress? I've done a couple and this EV Swap has less than half the wires, and that's a fact 40 pin connector (and not even using all the pins) vs the 80 pin LS PCM connector, so there's some hard evidence right there
