Don't feel bad about posting your truck. It is something to inspire us. Your truck is awesome. My dad has a '49 that is in pieces and seeing yours gives us options at what we can get to. Seeing other builds and completed trucks will hopefully help me with my '59.

I finally got around to the rims and trailer whitewalls. Think the trailer bottom section painted yellow is next. Heres a pic of the newest rims and tires.

I've posted a few pics here and in other places on this forum over the years but thought I'd post another recent one of my '58 4x4. It's not a NAPCO. I put '75 1/2 ton running gear and suspension to the original frame.

Thanks, the poncho's were great running torque monsters ..At one point i thought of pulling it because i'm a purist at heart but just cant seem to do it..It runs soo good and it fits in there really well, its a 1968 yh code 428 with 375 hp factory and only has aprox 20k miles on it, all orig motor still retains the matching carb .....I also have it mated to a 4 speed manual !!Fun little truck .....At least the motor does say GM on it !

Thanks for compliments mud man! It is pretty much a "pavement pounder" and doesn't see any off road use.

I used to Mud race a lot hence the Mud man plate but spent way to much on this truck so not much mud with it either, but fun truck that's good all year round.

Still stock for the internals. Was rebuilt many years ago and has not yet seen 20 miles on it. Its a 55 with the head milled, new full valve job with new valves, new stock cam, new connection rods / oversize pistons, new oil pump, the only thing existing is the crank. Had her out the other day being that its almost ready for the road and i could honestly not believe how much power it has.

Right on man. Inline 6's are naturally torquey and just allowing them to breathe a little more can be a night and day difference power wise.

Keep pluggin' away at it, I look forward to updates :)

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

This '51 belongs to my buddy Marcus. His Great Grandfather bought this truck brand new right here in our hometown of Lancaster, CA in 1950! Marc got the truck from his Dad about 5 years ago and it just recently hit the road for the first time in over 3 decades.

This is probably one of the very few trucks you'll see that has been sporting those vintage accessories since it was new (grill guard, visor, etc). It's running a '56 235 with a mild cam, Clifford long tube headers and a small 2bbl on the stock intake. The old Stovebolt is coupled to an even older granny 4.

Here's a link to him firing it up right before heading to the muffler shop for new pipes and a pair of 18" glasspacks.
