Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
And next week the real fun will begin with the new door weatherstripping. Both the door gaskets and all the door belt line kits. Converting to framed glass and all parts found except the division bar for framed glass. I only find the reline kits....so may be the only option.

6-9" of rain yesterday in our parts, so not much to do outside once I got home.....so inside projects for the night. Started with getting the passenger side donar door stripped down under the porch overhang. This is one of those projects where its nice to have the clutch head socket kit. Have to fill the trim holes and do some patch work on the front corner, but other than that its pretty solid. Must be a 62 door as it doesn't have the view hole on the side and its fawn not silver. I think 63 was the 1st year with the view hole.
Will have a set of standard glass and some extra vent wings, window/door regulators after I'm done with the metal frame glass conversion if anybody is needing 60-63 stuff. |

Back cab trim ready for mock up. Still need to polish the back cab strip. I have another that is ready to go, but it has a small dent, so I'll use this back cab trim and use the other on the fleetside.

And last but not least....I started the clean up on the window frames. I'm not sure, but the frames appear to be stainless. I had some painted areas that had worn through and there was no rust at all around the frame on the glass. I'm sanding it down and polished a test area and I think they'll buff nicely. Still haven't gotten to the bottom of the stainless or not mystery....but it's looking like they are.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
Hoping to get this window done tonight and strip driver door as well. Too much moisture in the air for any kind of painting. Need to do a polish on the back cab trim also......

Did get the pass side door hose out. Got a good coat of rust inhibitor/sealer sloshed around in rhwre. Just put a good amount in the door and rolled the door to move it around. Rest will weep out the drains. Got the outer door stripped and have some work to do here to. One dent, two dings and a rust repair on the lower front corner. Will do inner side tomorrow night. Nice steel and no mirror holes to fix though |

Man....I really hate when the phone flips my pics. Lets try again.....you can see the dent on the lower edge of the door and the lower corner rust repair. The other small dings are on the body line of the forward passenger door. No door check dents on this one and never had any mirrors on it. Ran out of light at 8pm, so back at it after work tonight. Goal is to strip the inner door then start repairs. The scuff pad on the grinder is cleaning it up nicely. Took around 45min - an hour to strip it, but nice to get it all the way down to metal for repaint.

Ive tried that....tried rotating the pics, which sometimes works. I think I'll just stick to the computer uploads. They always come out right.

Thanks guys.
Got the pass side inner door stripped down last night. Ran out of light for pics, but ready to start repair work tonight on it. Helped Austin get the glove box reassembled on his truck and it was dark. Pics tonight. |

Ran out of light again, but started door repair on the dents and dings. Will have it all knocked out this weekend. If the rain hits as expected....I'll be going to engine & trans mounts, and the new headers that have been put off to do the cab prep.
