Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Well was able to get a lil done today with my brothers help. Adjusted the kick down cable and shes driving a bit better now. However when slamming it she still hits 5k rpm before shifting....So im a lil concerned about that but normal everyday driving seems to be good. Figured out there some issues with the back brakes...After some texting it sounds like the rear drums are leaking on the inside. Also installed a new ground strap wire to the engine bay as the old one hasn't been hooked up and was broke. So installed in on the firewall and connected it to the valve cover...Which was my brothers idea but im still not sure about all that

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Glad someone made some progress this weekend
|
Re: Project 78 High Sierra
LOL! Well its about the only thing i got done...I slept until almost 2pm...Then got to the kick down cable..DOing the push the pedal down method did not work at all!!! Had to manually turn it and still not sure its setup right but its a bit looser and thats what matters. Also need to check my fuses now that i have the ground strap attached in the engine bay. One fuses would always blow so maybe that will fix it. I re-attached my Tach now too that the ground is wired in to see if it makes a diff with the other electrical stuff....
Next weekend though...So ampped to go work on Darcy!!! Wish i could drive the stang grrr |
Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Jeff, I adjusted my kickdown and it's been doing great. I worked the carb by hand, though. I just popped out that clip on the cable, opened the throttle all the way, and pressed the clip in. Before that, my whole cable was just dangling down. I didn't know if you had tried that yet. I did it that way because I was by myself, but it has worked good. I can check yours out next Sat if it still is acting up.
