More work done on passenger door. Glassed in the trim holes and on to the back side now

Long weekend and entirely too much going on, but got both rockers and cab corners complete. Pass door has a quarter size area to sand the glaze down and driver door just needs the top 1/3 stripped. So....with good weather this weekend paint will go down down. I'll tape up thur/fri and shoot this Saturday.

As you can tell from the pics the original passenger side door has issues. Some real bad work sometime before me. All the internal components are good and will transfer except I have the framed glass to install. Will be nice to have the cab painted and done!!!

Glassed in the trim holes and filled from the front. There was a nice dent at the bottom that I was able to work 95% out of. And fixed the two little dings. Far more hours in the door than I'd like but it looks good.

I hear you there. Two jobs and volunteer paramedic work where I can...when I can....two project trucks, couple acres and a wedding around the corner in November. I try and find some time everyday...even if just for 20 minutes....its 20 minutes more work done. And this has been 7 days a week lately. Did get a lot done this weekend on cab prep, but all done by hand is slow going. One of these days I'll get a DA sander for the compressor and save a lot of hand work.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC

Eastwood sells one that only requires 2.8 CFM so my single stage 60 gal compressor holds up working that DA… :uhmk:

I'll get a larger compressor in the spring but for now im working with a 30gal. Limits my air tool use.

Got a 100 gallon compressor here...keeps the darn electric bill high enough. lol! Nice progress....Now I just gotta try an pop my neck back to the upright position. ;)

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC

I can sympathize with your 30 gal compressor. I totally wore one out during the first part of my build. I don't know how many hours I lost waiting for air pressure to build back up so I could continue. I can use my new one all day without problems. Wish I could have gotten one sooner.
You're getting a hell of a lot done on your truck considering your schedule. Put's me to shame.:metal:

I can't imagine how much more you will get done with a big compressor. There's no way I would be as far as I am without my 60. In my opinion it is the best tool I have ever bought. Second would be the right angle grinder with twist loc discs.

Just food for thought I have the Puma 60 gal 3hp and got it with free shipping for $649 for ACD

And on top of all that I don't know how you do it with basically 3 jobs.

And now I know why you want to be done by November.

I'm trying to figure the phone flipping photo thing out. I may just have to go back to my old way of uploading from the computer!!

I've got the timing down on painting with it, but for a lot of other air tools you have to wait as you said. Also why I just do most of it by hand. Its not a big compressor, but still glad to have it.

Thanks for the kind words also!!

I'll check out that site when I get some time. Not a bad price at all though. I'm doing the best I can for my Nov 8 date. If its done I'd be thrilled, but I won't rush the quality or work to meet the deadline. I've got to much time and money invested to rush now.

As for the phone pics flipping, try and edit the pic before uploading… I rotate pics 360 degrees, Save, and that usually works...:mm:

Ive tried that....tried a 90 deg rotation too and my phone just seems to do what it wants. So me are fine and some it flips....frustrating.

Yeah...when it flips them, I've gone in an edited the pics to rotate 90* to correct....still reflips them when it posts. I'm just going to stick to my old method of downloading to computer then uploading to the forum.

Well damn you get more done with 20 mins a day and a 30 gallon compressor, then I can get done with all sorts of time and a full restoration shop at my disposal!!

Thanks Ryan. Even the little stuff adds up. I try and do what I can where I can. Looks like I'm set for paint on the cab and doors this Sunday.
