Re: 1968
I finshed one of my side jobs today. The PO of this home got it repo and he got mad and went in the attic and cut all the elect wires to the breaker box.He cut wires all over the house in the attic also. So I rewired the elect breaker box and replaced all the wires. So now only two more fires to put out. Then I am back working on my truck.

Re: 1968
Sounds like you are making some nice play money over there George if you keep that up it won't take you long to finish the truck.

Re: 1968
That's good, George! Sorry I missed you when I came through. They changed my work schedule, and it was the middle of the night when I came through. Looks like I will be making trips down there more often, though, so we will hook up soon!

Re: 1968
Today I receved my Edelbrock performer intake. It looks sweet. Now I need the right gasket for the intake. Also got 3 u joints and carrier bearing. But I have a problem. I don't have the bracket that attaches to the cross member to install the carrier bearing. It was a one piece drive shaft from GM. But now it is two piece.
picture of intake http://i.imgur.com/sALN8YIl.jpg picture of u joints and carrie bearing http://i.imgur.com/usl1nPal.jpg pictures of drive shaft rebuilt. I have to re-paint the driveshaft. stratched it up a little http://i.imgur.com/ExOrw9Zl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/8WbENDcl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/RlJ9vOMl.jpg |
Re: 1968
I found the bracket for the carrier bearing. So it looks like I will be installing the drive shaft soon.

Re: 1968
George you should see if your buddy has a nicer hood you can start with so you dont have to fix that one, if he doesn't have one hoods are usually pretty inexpensive you should be able to find a good one locally.

Re: 1968
I picked up some stanless bolts and washer today. Going to use them on the engine compartment. They look a lot nicer than regular bolts. I also got some red wire looms for the distributor wires.
I ordered a black carpet today also. It came from another board member. He bought it for his truck, but changed his direction. I got it for a song. Couldn't pass it up. It is still in the box with pading. so it looks like the carb will have to wait till next mont. I need the carpet before I need the carb. |
Re: 1968
tail light lens came in today and the chrome therostat housing. Going down south tomorrow. There is a guy that is selling a lot of parts so we shall see.

Re: 1968
Went south and tried to buy some parts today But didnt make a deal so I came back with only a door panel trim. But I did meet a very nice guy down in Tarpon Springs, Fl. He drives a 1970 fleet side long wheel base 10 and it looks real nice. We talked for almost an hour.
So the trip was not a total loss. |
