Got the equipment home and me and Shannon practiced some. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...c/DSC01988.jpg My first box. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...c/DSC01989.jpg I picked this 16" fan and wiring kit. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...C/DSC01986.jpg Shannon brought over my new condenser since we traded condensers. It fits great. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...C/DSC01984.jpg |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Man those are nice, I wish you had those a few months back I needed some help with some patches in my floor, but as other said I just used what I had and they did turn out pretty good.
Keep up the great work Alan it keeps me working on mine. |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Thanks Allan. I don't play ball. But I use the bat when ever I can. To form metal that is.

I made it a point to get something done today. I decided to mount the condenser. I used the old cross braces off the core support for this. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...C/DSC01992.jpg With a lot of measuring and head scratching I had a plan. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...C/DSC01994.jpg My first one (drivers side) is not as pretty as my 2nd one. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...C/DSC01995.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...C/DSC01991.jpg All done except for paint. I could finally remove my wood blocks. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...C/DSC01996.jpg Looking for ideas of where the drier and lines should go HERE. I think the drier should go right behind the grill on front of the core support. I plan on running the lines thru the frame rail back to the cab. |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
dang alan that is clean

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Hey Alan that looks good!! I may need to swing by sometime and use some of those fancy tools to help with my truck!

I think when you get your brackets painted up and finished, it will be a very clean way to mount the condensor. |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
So Alan how do you like the shrinker\stretcher? I was,am going to buy one some time after xmas and I am trying to find me a tig for cheap LOL so I can play with aluminum at home instead of work. I just purchased me a 48" boxpan brake should be here first of the yr or sooner and I can make some fan shrouds for me and a friend....and??? I like your condenser mount looks slick.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Alan I'll bring you the cab if i decide to move to SC!

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Hey Alan,
haven't been checkn on your progress. I see your buttonin up the little stuff. What % of completion do you think you've reached? I bet it feels good seein that light at the end. Some folks can only see a tunnel at the end of all the lights. (;€ |

I didn't like having to reach behind the core support to get the nuts on the bolts for the braces. If I remember right there were some welded on nuts, but broke loose when I removed the cross braces. I brought home the "thread setter" it's metric, but it's the only one I have. It's great for installing nuts in and inaccessible area. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC01997.jpg For those that aren't familiar with it, it's basically a rivet gun. Just don't squese (sp) til it pops. If you do that, it pulls the threads out. The nut sert is on the gun ready for install. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC01999.jpg Here it is installed. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC01998.jpg |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
very slick Alan.....
Are the nuts easy to find and buy locally or do you have to order them? |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Arnt those called rev nuts Alan? not sure but we used them at freighliner all the time and they work really good! :metal:
By the way looks good ;) |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
They are also called nutzerts. Depends on who sells/makes them. I used them with penske and still do now that im with mack.. I have them in both usae and met
|
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
One thing bad about the Nutzerts is if they aren't put in correctly they will spin after a bolt in installed, and you have to cut the head off to take apart what ever it is holding. I've seen a few. What a PITA. Other wise they are slick.

Shannon placed an order and this was my part of it. He's basically doing the same setup on his truck. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...k/DSC02000.jpg Here's the carb line installed. I guess I need to move my heater outlet to the other side of the intake. I don't have the skill/ability to route the hard line around the water outlet. Things don't always go as planned. When I made up the fuel line the other day, I shouldn't have done the last bend. Lesson learned, have every thing in place before running hard line. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...k/DSC02002.jpg |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
dang alan you dont need all that line send it my way ;)

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
My Dad had a big lathe that wasn't doing me any good just sitting there. Tried to sell it for a while and this is what a guy traded me for it. It's all snap-on except for the puller set (Mac) and the welding helmet. Now I need a bigger compressor to power the blast cabinet. It never ends.
