Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
:D One more paycheck fallas .. ONE MORE and I can order my front wheels. :metal:
My wheels and a carpet cover for the tank are the last things I need. Then some work on the inner bed sides and she's back on the road. I'm ready for spring! |
Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
It's just sitting there on jack stands awaiting the new 'shoes'
Dad and I were working on the wheel studs the other day. Of course the bed is off, and the front end on stands. We pulled the back wheels off to change studs, and a floor jack underneath the center of the rear end. I pulled one of the studs through and went to release the bolt I used to tighten / pull it in. Yeah .. NEVER do this. The back of the truck came up off the jack and tilted forward. The truck was literally tetering on the jack stands, and almost went forward, into dad's Fairlane. Yikes. It didn't fall luckily, but she came up off the jack about a foot before I jumped across the rear of the frame to hold it down. Scary stuff. I don't know what it is, but my left arm is so much stronger than my right. Weird how leverage works. I never thought I could move the truck, even with the bed off. I'm double jointed in both shoulder sockets maybe that has something to do with it. |
Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

Better rethink your jack stand points before continuing... Don't be messin' up Pop's sweet Fairlane ;)

I wish we had never even looked into Invitro Fertilization. IF you're considering it, don't. It took so much away from our marriage.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
I guess when I mentioned I was getting close on my front wheels, it just all hit the fan. Who woulda thunk she was ok with it a few days ago. I mentioned I had planned on ordering them on Mon and man she hit the roof.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
I would let things cool off for a while.
Tell her you posted it for sale and set on it. My wife wasn't a car person and never understood why I spent my money like I did. I would give it a few days. |
Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
Chad, remember that part of the process you two are delving into includes additional hormone therapy which tends to make the female folk a "tad" cranky. Let her cool off, and reapproach the situation a bit later. Remember, it's a truck...she's your wife and you're working on growing your family too.
I hope it works out and you keep the truck and the family flourishes! |
Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
maybe take a break from the truck for a while, make momma happy first then see what happens from there.
