Yeah it was a monster wood lathe.

The compressor I have now is a single stage 125 psi. The one I bought that was missing the pump well........I sold it. The blast cabinet requires 100 psi 18 CFM.

I just got my 37deg flair tool from matco. I like it. It is a different tool than most. It has a tee handle that clamps down on the line. The flair itself is fluted. but it is a single flair. I havent found any double flair type. I think the AN and the lines from the ls1 will work with that.

Thanks Bob, for putting things into perspective. I kind of felt bad trading his stuff off, knowing I wouldn't get much benefit out of it. Looking at it as if he is helping my dream helps. ;)

I don't see Phase 2 any time soon. It would be nice to have another bay. People aren't beating my door down right now to have work done. Shannon's truck should keep me busy after the first of the year once he gets it blasted.

Hopefully once my truck gets on the street it will be a good calling card. ;)

I've got a long way to go before I'm ready. By the time my truck is done I will have a half a clue in what goes into building a custom rod.

What's the trick in flaring SS tubing? I heard it was hard to do, and found out it is. I tried double flare first then single flare. I chamferred the inside and used oil and all it did was push thru the clamp. I thought about using heat to warm in up some. Is there a discussion about this anywhere? Need some ideas.

The company that I got all my lines frome had some diffrent kind of end maker. Looked really cool and a lot easier then the one you got. It just cost about $300 for it. check out http://store.fedhillusa.com/flaringtools.aspx

That is cool. I'm more partial to mine. ;) There are a couple things I wish I did, but I'm still happy.

Happy NewYear everyone. It's been a rough start to the New Year for me. I won't bore you with the details. I wish I could post some progress pics. As most of you know we had a little snow/ice event here. We didn't get much, but a week later it is still here. That is very unusal for this area. It got down to 7&8 degrees a couple nights and the teens for several nights. We went 10 straight days when the high didn't get above freezing. With that and everything else that has been going on Depression set in and thought about selling the truck and saying the Hell with it. I'm slowly coming out of that fog. I just gotta keep digging. :chevy:

You have done some awesome work. Think about jumping in the truck with the wife and cruising done a country on a sunny warm afternoon. I remember living up north and feeling the winter blues. You can push through this.

Hang in there dude! Awsome build. We had 20" snow with 50 mph winds over christmas. Frozen water sewer then furnace quit at house, -20 deg a few days. But been up to the 40's the past week and bunch of broken cars in shop. All my "projects" under 8ft drift. Spring is coming! We all get down this time of year. (holiday bills):devil:

Hey Alan, Do not give up the ship!! I think Idaho winters are rough until I read of the Midwestern and Canadian guys threads. Theirs is much worse.
Get a SAD sunlight and do some winter light therapy while you are on the computer at night. It really does help my patience level and mood improve when my winter depression hits.
With a project the size of like yours and working for a living It can easily burn a guy out. Take a little break -your not on the clock and it is supposed to be fun!!
I used to laugh at my Father-in-law and his 1 year projects, 5 year projects and 10 year projects. I am understanding these things better now that I am older.
