3+3 is what it normally says, "Bonus Cab" is the emblem installed if the truck did not originally have a rear seat.

The Camper Special emblem came with different weight ratings, mine says 10,000 but I have seen smaller ratings. The trim on the cab normally has the Chevy bowtie or the GMC, but there is a tee pee instead if it is a Camper Special.

what would the point of having a king cab and no rear seat?i could see this if it was a EXT cab and called a "bonus cab" and had no rear seat... Just curiosity is all :)

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

the Idea was to have a place for a contractor to pile tools or for someone to just have more cargo room.
you got to remember these truck were being sold in the days when you could still order the trucks built the way you wanted ie; color, a/c, no other creacher comforts, and that back seat was an option that could put you over your budget

and whats up with all the damn suburbans in the crew cab thread?

This is what I mean by ugly 70's two-tone paint. I love 'em. Would like to see more of this truck if anybody knows the guy. Pittsburgh local from what I can figure out.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

Me too! That green and white truck is beautiful!!

My truck is not a bonus cab, however the guy took the rear seat out of storage and put it back in before he sold it to me. It was out forever, just for that reason to fit stuff back there. So now I have a crewcab with a brand new rear seat and a recently recovered front seat. Too bad the front seat is the old style that stops a foot from the door. It's coming out.

that green truck is so sweet.

The funny thing is

There was a time where that truck could have been crushed and people hated green

The owner posted a few pics on duallyscene. If he's doing a build thread I haven't found it yet.

Here's a newer pic, of the hood anyway, with a supercell thunderstorm in the background. This storm dropped a tornado on Albertville AL about ten minutes after I took the pic. Okay back on topic, LOL

Tried to buy this project earlier this year, but it sold before I could slide down to Montgomery to check it out.

I am wanting to do the same for my truck. I just don't want to put a bunch of money into the powdercoating and have it peel off of the aluminum. I wonder if the lug nut and wheel weight areas would eventually give problems.

I don't know about the lugnut area, but anybody who is still using lead wheel weights needs to get with the times. Internally balanced tires last longer, wear better, and can't throw a weight. I have used it in 3 sets of dually tires, I will never use old fashioned weights again. With internal balance the tire is automatically balanced for the life of the tire. As the tire wears and changes, it remains balanced. Lead weights are only right when you balance them, every day you drive the tire wears and the lead weights are losing effectiveness. That's why you are supposed to rebalance them every year.
DynaBeads and CounterAct are two of the bigger names in the business. You can actually use a lot of different things, I've even heard of guys using antifreeze!
In addition to not scratching the finish of an expensive wheel, they also provide for a nice clean look. Rim weights or even stick on weights that are visible detract from the beauty of the wheel.

I'm going to add a picture of a crewcab here so Tito doesn't get mad at me for going offtopic ;>
