Thanks. That must have been a fresh load. No Detroit smoke on the hay.

Truck & trailer freightliner hay trucks where very common truck out west. The new emissions regs have killed a ton of them though. |

I'm curious about that, too
Has this one been shown? I have held off on saving pictures from this thread so as to not repeat any, but still could have been posted Attachment 1591550 I'll post another, just in case Attachment 1591551 |
Re: GM Semis
I believe they are new, but even if they ain't, it's good to see them again.
The bottom truck is an early model with that cool Triple Horn option they had back then. |

Yeah, looks to be a bells & whistles model. Probably a '66 or '67 you think?
I went and found some pictures a while back, ut never posted. Pretty sure all new ones, but now I can't tell. I just saved some last night and I added "ns" to the code to tell me "not shown". Here's another I thnk I saved back a while: |
Re: GM Semis
Right, the blue one is either a '66 or '67.
The red truck is sure another fine example of a nice Long Nose. |

Good old California. But, what happens there is generally the writing on the wall for the rest of us. Around here, first we saw cabovers disappear once the length laws were lifted...and 53' trailers came about...and then a bunch of broken up curbs and ruts beyond them. Now we are seeing old cabovers run by guys who don't want to deal with the computruck/particulate filter thing.

A good example of a Heavy Medium.

Old trucks are illegal to run, to much pollution or some such non sense. Have to be retro fitted with DPF Filters or replaced by new trucks which are not cabovers. |
Re: GM Semis
I never knew that, I figured you could run an old truck as long as you wanted to. I guess the rules must be different for commercial trucks.

Yes, but I understand other states are considering following Ca. There is Ag and low mileage exemptions. Bunch of horse dookey, but I'm just a dumb trucker |
Re: GM Semis
If I were running local short haul, I'd probably still have a 9500 with a 6-71, lol.
