Hey FF, I've been checking out this thread and Rokcrln's as well and can't seem to get the idea out of my head now. That being said I have a question for you.

I'm in the process of building my 69 SWB and it is getting a custom frame. The factory SWB trailing arm frame will need a new home once I'm done and I understand that it is right around the same length as where you ended up on this project. Do you think I could reuse the SWB frame for this purpose? What would the challenges be?

Hate to say it, but I might have to let someone else take it to the next level. Not sure.. Really don’t want to let it go, but I need to consolidate. Hard to believe that the Sunbeam has taken me this far from finishing this beautiful beast. Damn Brits

Well if you decide to sell it just drive it to Texas!

Sad, but I get it. Too bad I don't have any cash burning a hole in my pocket. One of my favorite builds ... wonder if I have anything to trade? Oh wait, you want to consolidate =)

Edit: Hmm, I do have a set of 200S wheels in 5x5

Hey Frizzle. I actually have a 1972 GMC suburban that was shortened but I keep getting screwed with the shops I have been taking it to. It needs alot of work to undoe what the other shops messed up. Bad welding/ hack job etc. It just sits in my garage.

I have been wanting to get it to the point where it is like yours now but looks to be a long ways down the road to get it to that point.

I know ,huh! :ito: I used sit up nights reading the updates and watching , Never did join the site 'til 8 years later. That's the beauty of registering ,so you can search the site better and find these old builds and learn some more.

I got lucky and was able to see this in person (a long time ago lol). He bought a rearend for his other popular build super close to where I live. I volunteered to pick it up and run it down to him. Wife went along, we made a nice trip out of it.

I have seen a lot of these shorty burbs now and proportionally this one is the most well thought out one out there. It just looks right. People not in the know wouldn't look at it and think that's something is not quite right with that truck

Hey Guys! Love the painted rendering!! Can you give it white below the lower trim? That was my plan for the paint - white roof and white below the lower trim.

Since the Sunbeam - complete with Dana44 delivered by CG :) is now on the road (still needs interior bits completed) I will be turning my attention back to Tubby. My wife wants it gone and she’s justified given some toys I’ve picked up along the way. BUT, I want to get it at least roadworthy again before selling. Which means there will be some updates. Between us I’m hoping that once it’s driving again we decide she’s a keeper ;)

Can’t wait to do some more metal work!

I thought about doing that to my Blazer (with white chip guard and touching up the blue...in ink only, might have to leave the patina? )
